Carb Soak?

My carbs on the new project cj360 need some love. They're pretty grimy in and out. I saw in someone's build thread that they boiled their carbs in a lemon juice mix with good results. Does any one have any other suggestions for a product or mix that I can pull the rubber out, and drop the carbs in for a good degreasing?

I had good results with spraying the out side with carb cleaner, then Securing them in a vice and pressure washing until clean. I've heard of people soaking their carbs in concrete cleaner, then using a tooth brush or steel wool to get everything else.

I just took the float bowl and top part off of mine and cleaned all of them with a tooth brush, Seafoam, and Simple Green. Looks 500x better.

Personally I hate the autoparts carb soaking stuff.
It usually causes more problems than it solves.
The drillings on a 600+cfm carbs are way bigger than on a motorcycle carb
I think there is only one way to do it right but it takes time and effort, more than most people are prepared to do or sometimes just don't have ability to do
Too many 'professional mechanics' just look for shortcuts and the easy way out
If dunking carbs in a bucket cleaned them completely, they didn't need dunking in a bucket of cleaner in the first place

Would you mind sharing with us the right way?

I did a trial soak in simple green and results were so so.. actually on my indian, alumn, magneto body it darkened it considerably, my honda ss125 outer case pieces did the same..

I used the dip stuff from the auto part store and it played havoc on some of the plastics that could not be removed.. I have gone to soaking in mineral spirits with better results.
