Carb Syncronization and Jetting DC Area

Hey guys,

I've got a CB500T and it runs OK, but I'm sure it could stand to be jetted as it seems to hesitate and not have much power.

When the bike came off the truck, the muffler had been chopped off.. I added a muffler, but I'm pretty sure the carbs are not setup correctly.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a shop somewhere in the area?

Thanks!

I also need my seat hoop welded on and the muffler welded to the header as its just clamped right now...

Already had the muffler shoot off onto the street once, not a good feeling...

lot of info here and on the net if you are willing to do it yourself.

I made a carb sync tool with $8, 2x1 wood stick and tubing
for reference on my KZ440 with CV carbs I went from 35 pilot to 40, and 88 to 98 on the main for free flowing exhaust.
so if you got stock jets with aftermarket exhaust, you def need to change them

I would be fine with building a carb sync tool, but the actual jetting process... I'm worried about because of the fact that I do not have any experience with carbs.

I'm happy to help you out. I live in Silver Spring if you feel like bringing the bike up to my shed. I have a sync tool and a slag thrower. Probably not to good for welding the muffler, but we could do some frame welds. PM me and let me know.
