Some work done tonight, stripped her down, got all the electrical off.
Mocked up the headlight, and the speedo setup.
Got some decent pictures.
Feeling good.

So guys, I have a dilemma, the mono-shock is anodized, and I need it all black, sand blast and powder coat?
Also going to black out my motor, same process?

If you are ok with taking the shock apart, why not simply get the parts re-anodized in black?

I like the look, but...
With that length of a shock your chain is going to chew up the swing arm pivot. The swing arm needs to be almost level to not rub the chain.

I think you guys are overlooking the fact that it is on the center stand (which is on a piece of wood), im sure itll sit much lower when its actually on its wheels.

Yeah, that's something I will look at, I'll get a picture of it sitting flat once I'm off work, the bike does sit down a couple inches lower off that 2x4 and center stand. thanks for the input!

the measured rear wheel travel should be burned into your memory by now .you would have had the spring off the shock already many times and been measuring and figuring to get it right
sounds like you just started welding shit together without any design consideratations :-\
... anyway....what you want to shoot for on that lil bike is 4" to 5" max for street riding measured at the axle
properly set up suspension will at times, but not often, use all the shock travel and even go into the bump stop
unless you have longer than stock forks you want to have the same ride height as stock, a lil higher in the back is ok .pretty easy to make a shock shorter with a spacer inside
what was the shock off and is the spring rate close to what you need ?
it looks like you are going to have to raise the whole seat platform up as well, because the way it is now looks like it has less tire vertical clearanvce than stock
besides unless you are a midget that thing is gonna be extremely cramped

Yeah, haha I'll get you those measurements so you can tell me more haha, really I appreciate the help, the bike is for a close friend of mine who is 5' 2" and around 100 lbs

Dig the build. I personally love the green. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the suspension to get it all worked out. Keep up the hard work, it will all pay off in the end.
