Re: CB250RS stage 2, epoxy etch priming complete...

OK so ive laid down the etch primer on all the parts i can for the moment. ill let it harden off and then im going to start top coat procedures on the frame and swing arm as there going to be matt black, then ill move onto the parts to be gloss black and lastly the parts that are going to be silver, so all going well by Friday night i should have everything painted in there respective colors... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re: CB250RS stage 2, epoxy etch priming complete...

Looking good Andycafe! That primer looks similar to the stuff I am using on my cb450 project...Glasurit 801-1871 chromated 2 part epoxy. I usually use Dupont Corlar epoxy primer over etched metal, but a friend gave me a gallon of this stuff left over from an airplane project. I really like it although I am pretty sure it is stupid expensive compared to the Corlar I usually use.

Damn dude, looking slick. I love your garage by the way, I think you need some vintage bike-related signs to hang on the walls 8)

Re: CB250RS so i had to start putting her back together before the weekend didnt I

Hey all, well i got the tank and gaurd back from the blaster today so i decided to set the up on the bike just to get a feel for how she is starting to look after renewing the other parts so far. Along with those bits i also got the wheels back from the powder coated and they look great!!! i was looking back through the pics of how everything looked before the refresh and must say that im stoked with them all.. so the plan for the weekend is to repaint the motor (matt black) and get it mounted back into the frame, prep and paint the other parts to the wheels and my friend Peter is coming over to lend a hand with polishing the rear brake hub, engine side covers, valve covers and speedo hub, should come up great!!, the only down side at the moment is i have a 3wk wait for some new bits to arrive for the swing arm and a couple of other bits. Any way there is still plenty of other things to take care of like the redoing the wiring loom, and gettins the front brake caliper, and the new bar controls, headlight and new pegs..... so still plenty....... So here is some pics of the tins mock up.......

Re: CB250RS Tins mock up

Andycafe,
Haven’t seen one of these bikes in a long time. Have only read about them. they are supposed to be really good handling bikes. Do you know if they are sold in the U.S.?

Can’t wait to see what this turns out like. looks great so far.

Jay

Hey Matt thanks man, I have been thinking of arting up the old shed, making up some big canvas ( 6' by 3' ) panels and just blank and white shadows of some oldschool bikes (and riders) and putting them up, maybe even doing them as the old oil/sparkplug/etc...signs??? just have to finish all the bike painting first, may have some time while im waiting for some parts i ordered to arrive.
