16mm master on one AP caliper is way too big. Using the vintage brake ratio chart, the 12mm is a perfect size. I run the 12mm Brembo and a single AP caliper on my race bike and the brake feel is great. I wouldn't use anything else.

What about with a 100kg rider and two callipers

At Vintage Brake, he says the perfect feel for a twin caliper brake has a ratio of 27:1. Your AP brake has (2) 43.1mm pistons, so according to his chart, that's 11mm. 23:1 will give you a firm brake, which is probably what Willi likes @ 12mm. The issue with the larger bore is that you won't get any brake until the wheel locks up.

they're opposed piston calipers so there's 4 live pistons for a dual caliper setup. also the correct size is 41.3mm pistons. 16mm is the correct size as with a 41mm piston that puts the ratio at 26.7. As I said i run Grimeca copies of these calipers and have great brakes with a 16mm MC. I also run a 12mm on my single caliper brembo replica and that works well. the advantage the Brembo or Grimeca has over the Lockheed is they can accommodate a larger diameter disk. The Brembos are the nicest as far as fit and finish of the three.

My bad. I thought we were talking about the OP's AP Racing twin caliper in this pic:

All good points I will throw them on and see how she goes. Ended up getting this master.

That's a bit sketchy in the welding department, but I like it. (And judging by the tyre it works, so who cares about the welds!)

I would suggest fitting a bigger sprocket on the engine though. Yes, this will slow the starter down a bit, but the chain won't have to go around such a sharp turn, massively prolonging the life of the chain and probably even freeing up the odd horsepower.

With your big slick design and the conversation on gearing, I can't help but wonder what the LSR for a 200cc starter motor is.
