Both for 30 bucks including shipping to canada :D

I also received the coil and my DYNA red ignition wire :D with boots and everything:

Also here's the final version of my speedo and tacho gauge:

IMG00270-20100725-0732.jpg

Modification: Honda logo was off a little, (was right under the needle crome cap so I moved it up a little.
Flags are a little bigger on the final one.

I removed the light lense on the tacho because I'll install a cutom led pannel so I don't need them and my 2 cent, I like it better with a complete one like that (With all numbers)

Now i've also ordered 2 of those:
led.jpg

I'll stick them inside my gauge right before the glass and wire them up on the main harness, that should do a better job than the original light ;).

I also forgot to show you my rear set last time so here it is:
niknaks055.jpg

They are fitting bolt on in the rear passenger pegs so no modification or braket needed.

Damn... The delivery truck is coming to your house damn near everyday, huh?

A few questions, When rebuilding the gauges, are there replacement rubber insulators you have found connecting the cylinders to the base? If so, where?

Could you sent me the link to the coils you found?

Did you use anything like aluminum foil to release the glass from your mold?

Thanks!

Hey!

Yes every day, litteraly ;).

1- I don't know I havent see any rubber insulator in the gauge, Are you talking about the one between back of gauge and the gauge bracket?
2- Are you talking about my fiberglass seat? Nop, I used floral foam, it was supposed to melt using acetone but guess what, IT DIDN'T!
You pull on it gently and its gonna come.

Awesome.

No. with your gauges as an example, there is a rubber insulator between the silver part where the faces and mechanics sit in and the red part you mount to the bracket. Mine are blown out. Im not sure Im going to keep and rebuild but I was curious if that was an option.

Coils?

For the rubber parts I have the old one i'll stick to them or I'll use 3M tape :)

Hi,

If by dials you mean the number here's how I've done it.

1st I scanned the old metal design plate.
2 Photoshop it by selecting the number and line using the color selecting tool, and paint it the color I wanted.
3- Print it a few time on paper to see everything.
4- I asked my father to print those (He work in that so :) free :D Yay!!)

Let me know if that answer your question!

See ya.

wow nice progress, can't wait to see the finished product! Thanks for all the details too it really helps me figure out what I'll be doing when I finaly get mine! :)

Thanks for the comment and you're welcome :)

Awesome progress so far. Really nice job with polishing up and painting the engine. All the attention to detail is definitely going to pay off in the end.

Good evening guys!

Here's the next post of my cafe racer project.

Today I almost finished to assamble the head... wow...

I forgot to remove a little part of the old gasket so when I was tighting both cover on the exhaust cam, the cam was not moving freely... had it disasembled like 15 times to find out that.

Now everything is fine!

Here's some pic:

Taped and ready for the red paint in the middle of the hub :D NICE!!!

I used red engine paint from Duplicolor and I baked it for 1 h at 350F.
DSCN6770.JPG

DSCN6771.JPG

Now I'm working on the rest of the hub paint and getting ready to apply black.

I'll keep you guys posted!!!
Thanks for following and don't forget to leave comments!

See ya.

I hope you didn't bake that in the same oven you bake food in. The paint releases toxic chemicals that can stay in the oven.

The red paint looks cool though.

I've done that many times, its not powder coating... anyway... i'm not dead.... :p not yet :D

Ok :) now some pic of the hub painted black with the red :)

I think it came out pretty good.. but some red is missing at some place we can see the primer... think i'll tough it up a little.
DSCN6788.JPG

And those are the kick ass bearing I bought :D
Those are sealled on both side so no need to apply grease in the middle of the hub:

One is 6305-2z and the other 6304-2z

And the part that i'm realy proud of... remember those nice faceplat for my gauge, I decided to rethink the way the lightings was happening in there.

I bought some flexible high intensity diode (no led) and install them in the gauge... guess what... cost me 5$ for both shipping included and they are just deep enought so we can see the light on the gauge... :D!

Here's some pic of the DIY but remember that at the end the diod are plugged on 9V but they are made do work on 12V so they will be even brighter after!!!

Let me know what you think.

I think i'll install a switch somewhere to I can put them on and off!!!
:)

See ya!

Dude, that hub is awesome, and those gauges are SICK!! Definitely gonna have to steal that idea! Nicely done.

Shit dude... that looks great. I will say it here so as not to look like a big time poser later, I am doing the same thing on my hub (different colors). That looks really nice.

How much were the bearings? Where did you get them?

Tha gauges.... psh! out of control. Did you make those faces on your own?

Haha thanks man... yep I,ve done them on my own with gimp and my father print them on his big printer (he works in that)

I've payed the bearing 40$ for both for the rear... its not given but they are one of the best bearing and they'll stand the speed :)
