CB550 Carb Boring Services- "Almost Free"

you still looking for a cb750 carb donor? i may be interested

I might still be looking for a 750 donor, though the timing would have to be right for both of us. I am pretty busy right now, and your carbs would probably be off your bike for 10-12 weeks, by the time you take into account shipping both ways, and the fact that I would have to design and build jigs before I could even start the actual boring.

It would be best if it was a second set that you had lying around, and not the primary set that you need to run the bike.

Let me check but I think I might have TWO snotty sets...any need for TWO?? ...I'd love to get them both done.

I'll probably wait and see how the testing goes with the 550 carbs. I have about $2500 of jig design/construction and CNC programming into those, and haven't had a single sale yet, so I am not to keen to go down that road again with the 750.

wow...ok. well let me know if you ever want to pull the trigger on 750...good luck!

Starting on the Overbored CB550 carb build tomorrow. Just located all the bits including the bodies bored out by Rick Denoon after I had mothballed the project for 2 years. Now I'm in a panic! I'm hurrying to finish my CB550 build called "The Roadster" for the Toronto Motorcycle Super Show which opens on Jan 2. The engine is lightly modified with a Powrall 591cc kit and a CB650 cam, the bored carbs will help it breathe along with a new Hindle Stainless Steel exhaust. If all goes well, I'll post some pics tomorrow of the carbs and build. Wish me luck!

Bringing this back from the grave!

Rick, I can see from your website that you are still boring carbs... Wondering if you ever got enough candidates to jet your bored out masterpieces properly?

If so, what are the recommended jet sizes for a 550 set up with pods and open exhaust?

I’d like to send you my carbs if you are still offering this??
