I'm looking for hand controls, including levers and all to replace to stock ones on my Honda CB750 K7. I want something that looks less black and plastic and more aluminum. But preferably not newly produced (MotoGadget etc.), I rather stick with something of the era (or earlier).
Does anyone know other bikes that has interesting controls that could fit my Honda?
For example, on my Honda CB500T the brake control/lever is aluminum and could possibly work, but the electrical controls are still black. My CB350T is all aluminum and really nice, but with drum brake up front..
Just to widen my horizon, are there any other controls from any other model/make that would look even better?
At this moment I don't have the K7 controls (bike came without them), and since I'm not sticking to stock anywhere else I might as well try to find something even nicer, hopefully less clumpsy.
I think (depending on what you are looking for) that most '79 and later brake reservoirs look better than the big round '78 and prior. Lots of things changed then like shape of front MCs, signals and brake lights. I have been successful using Chinabay MC after a thorough cleaning and rebuild with everything properly positioned. GL1000s should have common switches to the CBs, and still 7/8" bar size. Length of wires and connectors might change, but Honda is pretty good about using common wire colors for common functions. Vintage Connections has new connectors for most all needs there.
I put 78 or 79 Goldwing controls on a 77 CB750 a few years back. I did not use the Wing master cylinder as it is set up for dual disks. I used a Buell Blast master cylinder instead.
