Cb750 what to do project...

poo, that sucks. Can you use a piece of hardline to extent it. Check out Irks chopper build, he did that.

here

I figured I should go find it, he only has like 20 builds going on right now. I remembered he did that and liked the idea, no flex like a rubber line and it's braided SS where it needs to bend.

and depending on the route you go, leaving it copper could look cool. Or paint it black to hide it if not.

K0 models had the same carbs but a 1 into 4 cable and slightly different slides and tops. Those were fitted from K1 onwards for years. Really basic simple carbs. Same design as all CB160/175 72/77 designs but different threads on the jets. You should be able to buy replacement jets. At least you don't have to drill out boxes of jets to run the bike on metahnol like we did back in the day.

It's been a while since I looked at a CB750 steering head. The machining marks and welding don't look stock. Did a PO replace the steering head or modve it to lower the bike or to change the steering head angle by any chance?

Thanks, my enemy is carbs lol.
Tubes are lowered in forks, I'll have a better look at tear down. I have no idea if it was replaced, that would make sense about getting a state inspection. Will be interest to see what I find when i dig in.

Those carbs are about as simple as they come. Oval bore, simple 26mm slide IIRC. Really easy to set up and tune, as long as the PO didn't drill the jets out....

Lol....pretty sure I can botch it lol...
I doubt it. They are really simple and probably the biggest problem will be getting good rebuild kits. Do them one at a time, get a page out of a manual and tape it to where you are going to rebuild them. Take pictures with your cell phone before you remove something!

Yup, I've got in some practice with rebuilding gl1000 carbs...that's the easy part for me...itd the listening and diagnosing...I like solid numbers.
Jets are 120 and 40 like the book says....not sure what happen with the previous p.o. adjustments and supposed bigger jets...

Well....dang.....
Intake boots were cheap amazon I think....wrong angles and it came with 3 of the #2-3 carbs and 1#1-4...just ordered new ones from 4into1...

Interesting day today.....started poking around a bit and exposed a covered rust spot....long story short...

People suck....why cover it and kill someone?
Pressure wash tomorrow, try to find the little tent so I can sandblast in it....

Try to find a little tent to sand blast in it.........purpose?????????

Is that just to recover the sand?

Can you show pictures, I'd like to see that setup.

Too bad about the rust, seemed everything was clicking right along.
