Cb750 what to do project...

That lower bolt for the big spring is a PO modification. Maybe they lost the small plate. The small screw appears to be a throttle stop that the quadrant would strike.

Cool, I'm having my son text me the carb numbers so I can start googling....I got them cleaned last night so they are now readable.

Internet pic....is this how the spring should attach? Carbs are 657A...apparently 1969 thru 1976? Thanks for your help and patience....I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed at times....

Think I've got the carb spring figured out. Now the exhaust....ive never seen another option besides copper....is there an advantage to the other?

I don't believe there is a noticable difference. I've used both (the aluminum came in a kit, I normally order copper). Just remember to inspect carefully and remove any crushed gaskets that are already there. On one of my GoldWings, I found three gaskets crushed into each port. Once they are run, the kind of blend in.

One of my bikes has copper and the another aluminum. The aluminum gasket has been in that bike since at least 2001 with no apparent problems.

ha. I have used both on the GL over the years and they both seal just fine so go ahead
It all depended on which kit I bought at the time

Ok....front brake line...wanna run a solid but I have no fittings that are correct. Anyone know the pitch and a good place to purchase?

By solid I'm guessing you mean without a splitter? Most masters and calipers use standard 10mm banjos. I like the look and performance of the Goodridge Sniper II system. Small OD lines yet Teflon lined and good performing, plus you custom cut the lines to desired length and clocking is no issue. Final cost is almost that of the high-end custom builds, but you get exactly what you need. YouTube videos (Revival's channel, I think) show how. Various dealers carry it. You buy the ends and fitting nuts as well as the line for what you want/need. OD a bit smaller than a throttle cable.

I got the GL1000 goodridge spec kit of Ebay and it came with a double banjo and 2 lines and is slick. I know you are doing a bit more custom look so I'd reach out to Irk and ask him. He gets off the shelf stuff from the car parts store for his lines I think and would be able to tell you.

I'll bet the double banjo setup is soooo much easier to bleed than the huge volume Honda splitter with trapped air volume built-in to the top!

yep, super duper. I just filled a large syringe attached to the first brake caliper and squeezed it full, the repeated on the other and filled the master. Instant brakes.
