CBigBore 360 engine in the making

I'm not a big fan of the 360, but that looks really nice. I was going to transplant the transmission into a CB77 racer but that never happened. Must dig out that CB360 bottom end and sell it...

The stock chassis is adequate at best and performance wise it's no weapon, but I really love the look of the engine. It's just so clean and purposeful.

Chassis' seen a few mods and now that looker of an engine should have some go too.

Just got this pic in from the vapor blaster's... Wow. Just wow. Picking it up tomorrow, can't wait!

It was just a tad too tempting, all shiny and fresh looking. So I got down to mounting the new Kibblewhite valve spring set pretty much right away yesterday.

Now I'm out of jobs for a while, at least until the gear box and everything comes back from the superfinisher's.

With Holland going into lockdown, I might just get the last parts delivered before they're grounding delivery drivers as well.

All the internal parts back from the superfinisher's at least. Bored cylinders getting powder coat this week.

Almost time to piece this puzzle back together! If we get quarantined, at least I'll have something to do!

Also gave the case logos some fresh contrast. Filled the logo embossment with acetone melted ABS plastic. Like you would when you ABS weld.

Just smear it on and wipe the excess off with plenty of acetone - no need for abrasives to get excess paint off. Would've f*cked up my freshly vapor blasted cases...

Messier than I thought, but still very much content with the result! No scuffs

P.S. yes, the clutch cover has a bit of damage, but nothing too horrid. And my dumb ass forgot to take an after pic of the alternator cover... The before pic gives you an idea of how I set off

Okay, with most of Europe firmly locked down, Holland likely mere days from being next... Pretty much everything in to start piecing the CBigBore 360 together

Final case mod done, too. Drilled the oil feed out to 2.5 mm, so now I'm good to go and start building it up!

I'll keep you posted!

Upgrading the oil pick up to a CL360 scrambler version.

Kind of a must have, while we're at it!

Looking real shiny with the superfinished cogs and things.

Shifter assembly is slick as can be. I can shift using my picky on the shift axle. Superfinishing doing the bizz.

Clutch parts then finally came in today. Let's see if I can get this side done before the weekend...

Right, kinda busy lately. Overdrive in partial lockdown. Pretty much all set to buy a huge garage - with a house as well. So not much time to update on proceedings.

Threw in the clutch, titanium spring bolts and washers, for reduced rotational mass sake. Just kidding, looks pretty. Might help a bit, who knows.

Found a flywheel puller in my good old 50cc days drawers. Works a treat!

Flywheel bolt also shedding a few grams... Can't help it.

Test-fitted the cylinders and checked the deck clearance. Then got too excited and decided to fit the rings and bolt the head on too. Snapped a ring in the hurried process.

New ones on their way. Needed to order parts for the NX650 anyway.
