CL360 - Problem installing Charlie's Place electronic ignition

Hey y'all,

I'm having a problem installing the magnet for my new ignition. The new piece is exactly the same diameter as the existing (is this the rotor?). How do I remove the existing? Or is it simply incorrect? Every video I can find online conveniently skips over this question, or the new part seems to be sized to simply slip over the top of both of the existing parts (so you end up with three rings). I've been fiddling with it and it certainly seems like removing and replacing the existing fitting is a) pretty difficult b) more complicated than I've been lead to believe it should be. I don't want to start entirely dismantling this thing if something else is up.

Well I removed the c-rings retaining the two spring arms and was able to remove the cam(rotor?) that way. One of the c-rings flew off into the wild blue yonder, which is what I was hoping to avoid, but I solved the initial problem anyway.

When you've been doing masonry in 100F weather you try to avoid effort.

So I figured that out and went to reinstall the advancer... tightening the bolt down and I hear a pop and it goes loose. Great. Maybe it de-threaded I think optimistically. Go to loosen the bolt and the whole end of the camshaft is snapped clean off. Hand wrenching barely any force whatsoever and it is done. Awesome.

Recommendations on replacement non $400 parts? Ebay I guess?

I answered your question in the other thread. Did you strip the threads, break the screw or break the end of the camshaft off?
