Damn! Another CX500

Derwood,
I used to go to that go cart track as often as I could and beat the hell out of them, we got tossed out a few times and once we were bumping each other so bad that we nocked the front wheel off of one...........those were the days!
Ask all the questions you want Darrin

Cheers

Great CX build!, have been looking for a CX500 or GL model. I live down the 401 a couple of hours from you in Brockville area. I almost had one from the guy I bought my CB500f off of but he moved before I could make the deal and left the bike with the new owners. They seem to think it is worth a fortune so it can sit in the back shed for another 30 years. I will end up with one someday, just not today! Keep up the good work, dog person here too! Cheers!

That's awesome. We used to get in trouble for messing with the governors and bumping. Heck, rubbin' is racing!

Now for the questions;

-Where do you get your cables from. I would like to go with a little bit of bling and put some braided lines.

-really like the headlight on the Cx.

-What works best for cleaning old baked-on gaskets from the aluminum?

That's it for now but trust me I have way more!

Thanks again, Darrin

Brake Cable I got off of Ebay.......it was a Galfer braided brake line for the CX Deluxe and it was about $49 plus shipping. All the other cables like the tach and clutch are from Siriusconinc.com
The headlight is the stock unit that I had the shell blasted and painted it my self and buffed up the chrome ring, but it still has some blemishes......the lens is from DCC and its the "blue jewel"
For the gaskets, spray it with paint stripper and then peel it off after a little wait, just be careful of the surrounding areas

Cheers
