DO NOT deal with this guy.

I put a down payment on a bike that was meant to be delivered before the end of the summer last year with this guy named Tony or Antonio De Vera. He owns Kickstart Cycles and with so many awesome bikes you'd think he'd have better things to do than take someone's money and disappear without a trace citing the most outlandish excuses. I finally got fed up with his bs and told him I wanted my money back because he couldn't deliver and he hasn't answered my calls, texts or emails for over 6 months. Anyway's I'm taking him to small claims court to get my money back but I just thought I'd warn anyone else trying to buy a motorcycle, DO NOT trust this man with your money.

There's a lot of kickstart cycles out there. Could you be more specific? Is it the one in Baton Rouge, Hackensack NJ, Toronto?

Thanks, guy on the internet who showed up only to complain about someone and then left

Re: DO NOT deal with this guy.

No doubt. I don't know why I clicked on this thread, because I should have assumed this would be a copy of the typical "guy who had a poor experience on craigslist" rant. Well man, I guess this is a good time to remember not to trust people too easily lol

Re: DO NOT deal with this guy.

We'd better go rescue the OP first, he's vanished

Its your wrong decision to pay down payment with out any prof so that's why this was happened with you. always try to pay after the verification about the products and dealers. I am always be-careful and beware from this type of online deals.

+1 on OP. Just had the displeasure of dealing with the dude. I wish i saw this thread before...Someone recommended Tony to me. He works at the part counter of Ready Honda Powersports. He did the exact same MIA my phones broken, i lost my phone, health issues. Two months in i dropped by and almost no work whatsoever was done. Just tires mounted and fork seals changed in two months... I asked him for a measuring tape, he didn't own one. I was about to pull the plug but gave him second chances. Eventually I had to demand the bike back and work on it myself. Big mistake choosing this guy. He has no motivation or work ethic and clearly does not have any expertise or professionalism.
-He had my exhaust laying on the floor scratching it. --Lost some of my bolts & nuts that are needed for my blinkers and other parts.
-He damaged my front forks somehow its scraped down to the metal by the seal.
-He installed the front tire backwards
-He left air pods loose, one fell off. exhaust was loose and had to be bolted down. back tire guides were left dangling.
-on several occasions he said he would do something specific like deliver the bike, call me or e-mail me and then goes missing for a couple days. coincidence?

Oh yes this if my first post too. I usually lurk on forums like SOHC4 and read the DIY's and GTA motorcycle etc. So yeah my post count will remain low as heck here. Either way its my mistake for getting into this situation i take ownership of it. learned from it.. Its hard to find someone to work on a vintage bike.. I really just wanted help with the carbs and mounting the tires.

I'm confused - you took your bike to be worked on by a parts guy?

Didn't you think that might be a bit strange?....

to the guy who started his thread (Janus) psykedelyk : when you post something at least be a man and own up to your share of the bs that happened.
deposit was made and parts were not readily available. as parts were found on he cb360 they were installed .soon $1000 deposit for the $2300 bike was used up.
the bike was closing in on finishing ; you found out insurance was too high .you asked me to "leave it under my name and I was to insure it" and "you would pay me". I naturally declined.
after a bitch fest of a rant from you. you asked for your money back.
I could not give you the money back, but I offered to sell the bike and give you the money when the bike was sold. you were not happy and I can understand that , but as a very small business I could not readily give back the lump sum.
your father got involved and I ended up paying him back, when I had some money.
guys ; judge for yourself..... Tony

I would have replied earlier but I am not really a computer savvy.
