DO THE TON - Barber Vintage Festival - Alabama October 7-8-9 2011

No, the guy called said I want it, call me back, and then his number was un-hear-able because of crappy cell reception and he still hasn't called back, he said he was going to buy a helmet etc. Anyway, I think he is from out of town and I hope to hear from him on the weekend. He is the only interested party so far. Man I want to go so bad but the cards are maxed and the account is past empty, I won't get there if someone doesn't buy the scoot.
 
Well this news sucks, but: I will be unable to make it to Barber this year due to me and my wife moving and buying a new house. We close on the house just a few days before Barbers begins and will be moving that weekend. I have made an agreement with my old landlord that I would be out by the 10th and as long as I am, he is not going to charge me any rent for the month. I am really upset about missing this event, but it just was not meant to be. With all that I have going on right now, there is just no way for me to make it.
 
Man, if you we had more time down there I'd say we all ride down and watch you move ;) or at least raise a few on your new driveway. You staying in the general vicinity?
 
Well Brandon that sucks. I am getting closer to making it, like 98.5% and increasing and now I won't get to meet you and have a drink tor 2 with you. A little sad about that, was looking foreward to meeting you in this trip.

Yeah Mike, me too, I was looking forward to meeting so many of you this year and that was really the highlight of the trip for me. That is what I hate to miss the most.

Tim, we are moving to Panama City, FL. Not really much further from Bham. I will be there next year, just hit a speed bump this year.
 
Brandon, I'm gonna try like hell to meet you that weekend anyway. I'll have the truck, but I'm not helping you move! ;D

Looks like a good 5 hour drive from Birmingham. We should meet somewhere in the middle for breakfast on Monday :) Good excuse for a post-Festival ride.
 
B that sucks, but congrats on the house. I know how it goes since I had to miss last year. I am actually hoping the same fate does not befall me as we will hopefully be moving the weekend before. Hope it doesn't get pushed back a week. :O

I hope all goes well with the closing and the move.
 
I have my gears turning, but I am not sure if it will work. I may try driving up on Sat., catching a bit of the Barber action, hang with you cats that night, then drive back on Sunday. Not sure yet, but believe me, that I will do everything I can to make that happen.
 
oh, and flug, I hope that you don't get pushed back! That is what happened to me. We were suppose to close at the begining of next week, but due to the sellers request, it had to be pushed back pending a survey that they failed to schedule early enough. That screwed all my plans! I already have the time off work for Barber, but it looks like I will be using that time to move now.
 
Hope you can make it Brandon, at least for a bit on Saturday. I am excited for Barber but even more pumped to put names with faces...no homo!

Yep, I think that the majority of my excitement is about seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The parade lap and swap meet don't hurt either.

I actually plan on abusing this privilege.....i'll talk to vonyinzer too. I'm sure he has tons of crap to part with.
 
Dammit! I just found out I have a week of vacation I could take for this. I'll never find a place to stay now tho.

@swap meet: I've got some tanks I will probably bring and will go through my piles of crap I took off my bike. If I make any money I will donate to the get Tim and Maritime to Alabama funds.

I was able to get a tent spot last week in lot B, go to Barber's site, they may have something left. It was $25 for Thurs-Sun.
