hey MBS,

what do i do to send them in a higher def?????????????
and don't worry about the time period, its a big task you have taken, so take your time and it is done when its done, any way, my name is dylan sutton with out the i at the end..
i would love to send you better pics but these are all i have on it, if i could make them better please let me know. as i do not.
thanks man,
good work
later.

Dylan, Sorry for the misspelling of your name there. Well, if the only suggestion I could make is to have your pictures printed out at their actual size, then scan them in at high resolution. It might work, but I am not a 100% positive on the results. I will see if I can try it with the pics you sent and let you know how it works out. If not we will have to see what other options we can come up with.

My Name is Pat Myers from Ocala Florida and this is my 1975 Yamaha XS650 (AKA. The Phantom) . I found the bike in an old mans barn that my friend bought. Knowing that I was into motorcycles (and he could care less) he gave me the bike for free!! After being cleaned up I powder coated the frame , redid all the seals on the engin , rebuilt the clutch, and bored it out to a 750. Then I installed clubman bars , racing seat , new headlight , front and rear fenders , rear shocks , rear set , and speedo. Finally, I painted the whole thing black.

So Bill, where are you at?? I appreciate that this is a HUGE undertaking!!  8)

Do you have a minute to update us!?! ;D

Thanks!! :D

Well I have been running around doing the holiday thing the past couple of weeks so I have neglected to do much in that time ::). Since my last update only 3 people have uploaded to the new file drop box link after my request for more info :-[ - Dan Winters (2 new pics), Dyan Sutton (1 pic of a rolling motorcycle trunk - I think we discussed trying to work with the lower resolution photos you sent originally) & Pat Myers (new entry photos). I think Pat also sent me a PM with a bit of info, but other wise (not to be a ball buster but...) no one has sent any of the info I requested and and most have not responded. I really want to get back on the ball with this and wrap it up so I am going to have to set some expectations and limitations in order for me to get the needed info and be accountable and get this done. So as a final request - Those on the list in my last update: Please upload the needed info using the file link provided (Please don't email it to me. Sometimes my DTT email gets junked as spam - so its easy for a PM to get over looked and I would prefer everything be sent to one location for organizational reasons) by Jan 1 st. - LAST CALL - if your info is incomplete your Not going to be in the book :-\ . Sorry guys I know it harsh, but I want to see this book on my coffee table as much as the next guy.

So here is the info again from the last post including the link:

Hey crew, Ok I have been trying to get this done, but work has me swamped at the moment. Anyway, I have most of the images laid out but there are a few complications. I did not receive any information to go with the images from the following members:

Bill Anderson
Brandon M Paul
Steve Carpenter
Dan Aysan
Dan Winters
Dennis Foronda
Dylan Suttoni
Keir Walker
Kevin Heckle
Lloyd Brennan
Rob Ciancimino

A few of you wrote some great stuff and sent it in but it's way too long. I thought about taking some creative license and editing it, but decided I had better let you all shorten your own bios instead - that way I won't get killed later. Here is what I need guys:

Member name, real name, town, city or province where your from, bike make and model and a paragraph or two up to 200 words about your bike and/or you. A Word document works best.

Here is the new drop box for info:

https://secure.filesanywhere.com/Dropbox/db.aspx?v=8f6a648c5a9bb0b8adab

Dylan Suttoni - your pics are a little too low in resolution and look fuzzy, if you can please send me a new set (3-4) that would be good. I like the pics you sent if you have them in higher resolution. If not I can run with the ones I have if need be.

Thanks in advance for the follow up guys - sorry to be a pain on this and for the delay, the sooner I get the missing info and stuff the sooner I get this done and have one made to preview for you all. Please email me directly if you have any questions or issues at wmelliottjr@yahoo.com. Thanks -Bill

**..DO THE TON BOOK - FINALLY HERE.. **

WOW... I just recieved today the only 1 of 2 draft copies of the new DTT Book vol. 1 that Bill has been working on!!
Bill has really taken the bull by the horns on this one.. from inception, design layout, to negotiating pricing etc..etc.

Just today I recieved the a working copy prototype of the hard cover book ;D

a quick preview!!

Keep in mind that this is just a working copy.. Bill and I will finalize some minor details and pricing... this is a non-profit initiative using a print-on-demand service so its was really just a labour of love...

I'll let Bill fill everyone on the details...

Great job Bill!!..

Hmmmm.... I need to read that intro you've got there ;) Off the top it suggests that the members of the site have spawned some new businesses, which is no doubt true, but Carpy's business was thriving long before DTT was around and frankly he's hardly ever here. The web addresses also don't need the HTTP:// in front of them all. Just looks messy.

Sorry - I've spent the last 17 years looking for little things like this at work, so it's a bit of a habit. Looking forward to seeing it in person! Too bad my bike wasn't ready for Volume I. Maybe Volume II.

yeah.. Like I said, this version is just a prototype..
That into was written when we had 4000 members.. It has been rewritten twice since..
There will be some other changes as well.. Bill and I are scheduled to go over it page by page in detail next week.

To early to think about details for a second volume but there will definately be a volume 2.
