Hey Mitch, you didn't happen to get a pic of my GR650, did you? Black and red, Katana fairing, seen in my avatar <-------

Jeez Tim...get that thing outta third and go fast! ;)
Haha did you notice drag on the camera?

Tim's from Canada, isnt he? So thats definitely 112 kph...or 70ish mph..........................weaksauce LOL

That's proper MPH, and we kept going from there. At 113 my tach is reading north of 8000, which is about 500 higher than it should be according to the math. So either I'm slipping my clutch at bit at the very top end, or I'm going faster than my speedo indicates ;)

We topped out closer to 120 before shutting it down. Was a little concerned for the engine approaching 9K, and it's not like we had a 1 mile oval to do this on.

Didn't notice any drag from the GoPro. It's pretty inconsequential compared to all the other bits and bobs bolted onto the bike with no fairing.

I was going to comment on this early, but I figured it was sarcasm. But, how Tim is going to slat flats, I guess he is using MPH speedo

I've often ponder, back in the 60's, in the UK, when they broke the ton, was it by KPH or MPH( things were different back then)

YEs, I've had to much to drink!!!

My comment was purely sarcasm. Im just busting Tim's chops. His bike is built proper and should not (and does not) have any problem breaking the Ton.

no dout

Yes my comment was meant in jest too.

To answer the Ton - MPH or Metric, without the benefit of a dram or 6 [ that was last night ].

Those of us serious about it used the rev counter and calculated the gearing, tyre aspect AND then allowed 2% [ the accepted norm ] for clutch slippage. That gave you an accurate worse case scenario speed.

Speedos were notoriously innacurate ! Add to that a lot of guys switched to "modern" rubber as it became available [ TT100s etc. ] which was a lower aspect ratio and therefore made speedos read high anyway. Then there where those who just lied about their speed !!

Tim you RODE all the way there and back ???? You have my undying admiration.

Unless you fitted at least half (3) heavy duty springs, you can guarantee clutch is slipping at higher rpm
