Link? Agreed - a nice looking tank. I'd do some serious testing on it before I bothered painting, and I'd line it with POR15 or something (NOT KREEM!).
I’ve got one. It was $75 shipped and they are all over eBay.
Positives- no dents to deal with, so it can be powder coated. Nice shape. Looks great. Deep tunnel will likely fit a lot of frames.
Negatives - metal is very thin. Petcock is crap. The tunnel is deep and the petcock is on one side, so about 1/3 of the gas won’t make it over to the petcock side. I had my welder guy install two 1/8 NPT bungs for crossover tubes and a 3/8 NPT bung for a pingel style petcock. Normally I’m not a fan of tank liners, but I would recommend it for sure with this tank. I always use caswell and would never use anything else.
right. Painting would cost anywhere between $500-$1200 depending on the job. With my build pictured above, I am going to powder coat the tank and seat for about $100. There are literally thousands of powder coat colors out there, including metallic, candy, metal flake, etc. Not sure on the color I will choose yet, but the possibilities are endless.
They are tiny with a very wide tunnel. They have to be modified to get fuel from both sides.
They are perfect of a small bike if you can make them fit or on a larger bike if you like very small tanks. On that GT185 it looks perfect. They are a PIA to fit on a CB160 frame but would probably be fine on a different frame.
