Famous Aussie CB350 cafe for sale on ebay

Easy David, there may be some nifty stuff unseen that accounts for the expense.......we don't know.
It IS pretty spiffy looking though huh? Nice and clean

Ya, you might build one that "looks" like it, but it might not be the "same"! ;) They're saying it's for sale for 1/2 the build cost!!

I've had similar comments about my KZ. I have recipts for $5000 in parts alone and a guy said he could build it for $3000!! I just laughed and shook my head!! :D

Nice CB, but it is a lot of coin!! :p

I give 'em an A+ for aesthetics! Ive tallied up cb350 motors alone that cost over 6k. I wouldn't buy it in one shot, and it'll probably take a while to sell, but it could very well be worth it...

yeah i hear you on that... just makes me wonder what exactly is in it. truth is, the labor on these bikes is worth thousands more then the parts... thats why you couldnt ever justify selling them imho

Well since the AUD/USD exchange rate is about 92.4c at the moment that would make that bike about 9660USD, which seems a lot more right. Its also probably worth it, as the fit/finish/styling is all on point and the motor decently sprted. Even if the motor is stock a freshened engine/gearbox is a peace of mind sort of thing that is worth a lot when buy an old bike. The reason these bikes are often percieved as being worth so little by your average Joe and Jane biker is not that people dont like the styling or de-value them because of age, it because often these bikes are just unreliable and bodged together into "customs" that are just plain scary to ride down to the 7-eleven. Locally over this past winter I have seen a pro built cafe go for around 6K, and some very clean stock old classics go for in the 5k region several times. These old bikes do have value, even if we are all out scavenging for the $100 holler. While most if not all here are looking to build thier own bike for whatever reason, never forget that there are a fair number of people out there, likely more than "us" that simply want the style and the ride without the headaches, and they will pay for that if they percieve value in it.

It would take a hardcore CB350 fanatic to pay that price. People who have that much coin to blow on a ready built vintage bike usually go for recognizable models like Bonnevilles and Commandos, not the lowly Honda. I doubt it will fetch anywhere near the asking price.

Nice lookin' bike, but I'd much rather spend $10k on something I built, than ride around on "somebody elses" bike.
