What brand of triple clamp/handlebar mounts did you use? They're very neat and look much better than the cobbled solution I have for my TL1000S....

Hey lescoulee! I didn't think anyone would be looking at this thread anymore!! Haha!

Ya, I spent a "few coins" on an LSL upper triple clamp. It fit perfectly! They make 'em to spec for superbike bars for a number of bikes out there! It's a quality product for sure!

Good luck! :D

Re: KZZXR

Been a fan of this bike for a long time! Saw some posts on some of it over on KZRider; then I found it here. Just need to say that this is one of my all-time favorite bikes. Great bike; great work!!!

Re: KZZXR

Wow, almost 3 years since the last post....

... now, it's about time we shared whats been going on. :D

Re: KZZXR

Got a new pipe. :D

Nothin' wrong with the old one, but...

Sorry for the fuzzy pics... my hands were shaking. ;)

;D

Re: KZZXR

Some new bars...

They're actually snow machine bars. ;) :D

Re: KZZXR

Got a new-fangled tail-light from DCC.

:)

Re: KZZXR

This winter, I got some new paint! :D

Here's a tease! ;)

I haven't had the bike out in the sun yet (crappy spring) to get some really good pics of the whole bike. This paint is a few shades deeper red and has some flake in it. A much higher quality job too. Should be real classy lookin'. ;)

Re: KZZXR

Oh, ya...

nearly forgot the most exciting part.

Took it to a track day at Calabogie Motorsports Park last summer. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

THAT was fun!! 8)

Seaglider had his zrx1200 there too! Sweet! ;D

Re: KZZXR

Oh ya, almost forgot some evidence...

I've got a couple of the rear tire, but Photobucket is acting weird tonight. :p

Later I guess. :D

It's later. Now photobucket seem to be working. :)

Felt good to actually abuse the tires some. :D

Not quite all the way to the edge, but I'm totally o'k with that. :D Gotta leave a little margin for error, eh? :)

Re: KZZXR

Got this:

Supposed to be an 1136 kit (or something like that) in it. The PO didn't actually know, and didn't have it all that long before I bought it off him. :)

Gonna hafta pull it apart some day to check it out. :D

Re: KZZXR

Wow Drew, you've been busy.
Your bike is looking great.
Is the new motor all ready to be swapped in?

KZZXR

Hey Rob! :)

Nope, no built motor yet. Maybe this winter Rob! :)

Re: KZZXR

It's been a while since I updated this bike build. It's been "done" and on the road for a few years but the improvements continue. :D

I'll post a couple of the more recent upgrades. :)

Re: KZZXR

Got some BS34's to hang on the old motor! :D

Nice bits Drew.
Have you ridden the KZ this year?

Hey Rob! ;D

Yes, but not for long!! It quit with an electrical failure about an hour into my season. :p We've gotta sort that out, then this years carb mods will happen. With all the time I spend doing other stuff and riding the h2 when I get a chance, this could take a while. ;) :D

Re: KZ-ZXR

Hi Drewski,
Just noticed that you have the exact same JMC Racing Swingarm I just put on my 1981 CB750.
Love the way it looks and hope it helps with the handling some.

By the way great looking KZ. I would like to pick one of those up one day.

Re: KZ-ZXR

Hey CK!! Yup, it's a beauty! Your gonna love it!

As long as it's installed properly, it will take all cornering loads and any amount of HP my OR your engine will ever be able to throw at it! :D The next step is shocks and springs of course! Then match the front suspension to the rear, brace the frame for flex, and so on, and so on... ;D

It really never ends, does it?! ;) :D

Re: KZ-ZXR

I just realized that there weren't any current pics of the KZ-ZXR on this thread!! Duh!!

Fixed that. ;)

I hafta say that this is still my favorite bike to ride!! It just flat out works in so many ways!! :D
