Cretins M.C. Seattle #107 - "The Saint"
Well bigger than the cb200 I've been riding for the last year or so anyway. It's a fun little bike but wanted to get it back to the friend that's been storing it in my garage so he has something to ride while he is rebuilding his 400f. Took a couple of months to finalize the deal, heard about the bike thru a mutual friend, but for $400 it was worth the wait. Clear title, 13,000 miles, almost new Bridgestone Spitfires. Been sitting for a couple years under a cover so it's got some rust & oxidation that will clean up. Ran a little rough when parked, my friend that told me about it re-built the carbs before it was parked but never got around to syncing them & is sure if we clean out the carbs & sync'em it should run fine. Here is how I found it on Monday:

Pipes & mufflers are in great shape, only a couple dings in the tank. Here it is when we got it back to the garage tonight, it is a little crusty but doesn't look too bad in the pics:

Plan is to clean it up & replace the seat cover & make it dependable & look for a CB/CL to cafe over the winter- Man I hope it doesn't pick up any bad habits from it's garage mate- like spewing oil & breaking down :)

That's pretty cool. This one belongs to my buddy James who I share the garage with. don't know a whole lot about it but is is really cool even tho it spews oil while running & he broke the front brake on last years Mods & Rockers ride, not bad, just disconnected it & was good to go.

Well, spent the last 2 days cleaning it up. 2 bottles of Simple Green, steel wool, polishing compound, a good coating of Turtle wax & lots of Mountain Dew it's looking alot better. Still no show bike but for a daily rider it will be fine. Was told by my buddy it ran rough when parked because the carbs were rebuilt & not sync'ed, but found 2 split intake boots that go from the carbs to the airbox & that probly didn't help the running at all. So I'll be on the look out for those. Should have the carbs back from being cleaned & soon as I find the boot's it should be good to go. It was quite a bit of elbow grease but having a lift made it sooo nice, no more rolling around on the ground. The garage I just moved into has a $300 Harbor Freight model - I highly recomend it! :) :)

damn you
that is exactly the kind of deal i am looking for
good find
have fun

It was just luck, my buddy who told me about it did alot of work to it for the p/o about 4 years ago while rebuilding the carbs on my 400f. He was working on a few bikes back then out of my garage & I did check it out back then it was in much better shape. Have been on the look out for another sohc4 Honda since I sold the 400f a couple of years ago when I was unemployed. Had a 750 for a couple months since then but it was a mess & sold it for what I paid for it just to get rid of it. Just be patient & tell everyone who will listen that you are looking for a bike, you never know who has something just sitting around. Here's the 400f- kid I sold it to lives close by but I have yet to see it around-Patrick

Old high school buddy's brother had a 550 four just like that. Very, very smooth running engine, smooth as a lot of newer bikes.
