Black pearl will look good with your seat color.

Egg shell white with a strip of exposed steel would look damn nice too if you go a different route.

Whatever you do - make sure you use a fuel/oil safe clear coat!

I'd tell you how I know but I'm too busy reclearing my tank...

I like the sound of that exposed steel stripe. One day I want to do an all exposed steel bike.

Yeah Son!

I dig that look too. I was going to do that on the bike I'm building now but ended up discovering some body work under the paint I was unaware of.
If I just had a few dents I would have rolled with it and called it custom "patina" or "antiquing" but after all the brazing to close pin holes it looked like shit and had to be painted.
If I can find another decent priced F tank I 'm going to do some experimenting with a mix of color and exposed steel.

Swingarm pivot bolt for the '77 CB750A is indeed 14mm shank diameter. Shank and threads come to 14 9/16" long, which makes it 2 1/8" longer than the F0 F1 pivot bolts.
So it works! Woop!

This is great news... Wish I had figured this out. You don't know how many eBay auctions I messaged asking them to measure a bolt for me. Thanks!

Yeah Son!

Finished and mounted the seat tonight. Go easy on me I had to rush the bodywork and paint to get it ready for this weekend. Besides this paint scheme is temporary. I'll do a much nicer job next time. Still looks pretty good though.

Get to show off the shop door I built about a year ago too.

Used the stock mounting hardware so I have a locking under seat storage area.

New headlight, this one looks better I think the other one was too modern and alien looking.

did the grips with real leather to match the leather seat.

Integrated turn signals with this head light. Pretty slick I think.

Stealth taillight with integrated turns.

Congrats brother - it turned out great! If I had one gripe about the project, it was the headlight you replaced. This headlight looks much nicer and fits the style of the bike considerably better.

The grips turned out nice too!

Thanks man. Yeah that last headlight was ugly for sure. I am much happier with this one.

Looks great! I like that you designed the seat to use the factory latch. I haven't seen that before. Kudos!

Thanks. I also did that so I can switch back to stock seat for two up riding if I want to.

Well it's been a while but I've been back to working on my project lately. I updated the forks with new seals and progressive springs, went with 15w oil one heck of an improvement over 40year old springs and oil. Also chopped down and installed the front fender, mainly so people would stop telling me my fork legs were going to snap off abruptly without the fender installed .

Wrapped the headers and replaced old rusty header bolts with stainless hex caps.

Installed new upper triple tree and a new Speedhut GPS gauge. It's also electronic TACH so it really cleans up the speedo and tach cables all over the front of the bike. The blue LED button is the kill/main power button.

Biggest part of this last round of updates was all new electronics, every switch wire, coils, plugs and wires, Pamco ignition, new earthX battery and RR from Sparck moto (huge thanks to Sonier for my thousand questions and for all the help with parts.

Mini headlight/turn switch.

Starter button.

Under seat electronics tray, very tight but I managed to squeeze the battery, three relays and the starter solenoid under there. That is also the main power toggle. Since under the seat is only accessed with a key, it adds security.

Next up is a new oil tank from Cognito Moto.

Yeah Son!

Installed a new oil tank from Cognito Moto. Looks good with the rear of the frame opened. After I installed filled to the top with good oil, about 3.25qts, ran the engine a few moments and about a qt was sucked into the engine so I put the rest of the gallon jug in there for a total of 4qts. From what I understand more oil is good and helps it stay cool. I hope there are no issues with putting in more than the specified 3qts.

Looking good anymore pictures of the full bike

Thanks.
Photos Coming soon my man. I am working on fitting a different tail light and installing a dual from rotor setup. After I get those last two projects done I'll take some good photos.

Yeah Son!

Installed a new taillight tonight. It is from prism motorcycles based in my home state of NC. Very nicely made and only 1 3/4" in diameter. http://www.prismmotorcycles.com
