Ok so a while back I was just looking for some inspiration on this site trying to look at some cool cafe racers. Which I thought was the point of this site... So anyways a was looking at this cb350 build that was like 70 pages long (really get off the computer and into garage) come to find out like 15 of these pages were about smokin weed. dumb. So I try to chime and get the group back on subject by asking if anyone has seem any good deals on gas caps, and this Klan leader sends me this E-mail.

Regarding Rocan, you don't know what you're poking your face into but we've all been dealing with young David for a long time. At risk of twisting your titty you need know more, read more and post with care before entering "one of those" conversations. Jumping in unknown to demand that we all shut up, drop what we're involved in to assist you in getting your Orange gas tank ready isn't the way to make friends here.

That all being said, you will find that if you participate for a while, with a little patience you'll find yourself helped along by most all our members.

Oh boy. Well whoever sent you that, I agree. I just read through all of your 58 posts (I see the ones pertaining to David's thread are gone...). Your contribution to this forum seems to consist of little more than you asking where to find something over and over. People here don't attack (and I wouldn't even use the word attack) people for no reason. If you find that people have no patience for you, it's probably because you're just like every other leech who posts a couple questions and is never to be heard from again. This is one of the most tolerant forums I visit, filled with incredibly knowledgeable people.

Contribute, don't just take, and show people that you have a vested interest in what they've got going on.

I haven't read the other posts BUT I did look at the link in 71cb450's signature and it does say on his second line "this is my first project" and it was started on only about six weeks ago.... SO I'm going to assume that 71cb450 is very new and doesn't really have much to offer in the way of help to other people. I assume that as the level of experience grows so will the level of contribution.

On the other hand... if you have a question for your own project 71cb450 you should ask it in your own thread and if no answer after a day or two start a new topic in the appropriate category for your question.

If you have a question about someone else's project it should be posted in their thread ie "Where did you get that master cylinder?"

As for any offensive comments you may have made or opinions that haven't been asked for... they should be kept between your ears.

These are only a couple suggestions until you get to know the Board better... I'm still working on it myself.
 
I have to agree with whoever sent you that PM as well. It's Rocan's thread, he can do as he likes with it. (Well, technically, the thread belongs to the forum, but you know what I mean).
 
I'm trying to say this without coming off as an asshole. It's not my intention. So if that's how it reads, please know that's not how I mean it.

This forum owes you nothing. It owes me nothing. The folks I've interacted with here have shared, helped, advised, nudged, and cajoled me simply because they want to. I don't know what makes the gang here decide what to chime in on. I do know what makes me chime in. When something's posted that's within my limited scope of bike knowledge, and no one else has helped, and I actually see it, I try and help. More often, my posts are just to try and brighten someones day and give them a grin, because that's what I can contribute.

I do know it's probably not productive to poke at the very folks you're asking for help.

Dont like a thread, ignore it. There are hundreds more to check out. Im guilty of getting caught up in some BS here, Ill admit that.
In the end though, I hate to say, trying to make the thread about what youre looking for certainly wont derail whatever is going on. And honestly man, I think all the drug talk was unwarranted as well, so I said that and moved on.
This is a great forum, and you'll get the help youre after. I know for a fact you have... But a forum this big is like anywhere else in the world. You like some of it, and find issue with the rest. Too bad. Pick your battles.

Soooo much fucking drama in this house these days...? I think he's right. Back to bikes, the hens should go some where else to cackle.
