FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

It really does, looks factory even. Once you get the thing dialled in I bet you could sell them too. Great work.

Out of interest, are there any advantages/disadvatntages to using filters instead of breather hoses on the crankcase? Definitely looks a lot cleaner - I guess once the the OEM airbox is deleted when you're using pods then there aren't too many other options re. breather hoses, right?

Pretty much you have no other options other than running long hoses to the ground maybe ?

Although with pod filters there you need to be careful when cleaning the bike that you don’t get water in there.

Looking good - will the brake line route from the outside of the mc? Or have you got a way to tuck it behind the frame? Any issues with the flat-ish angle of the mc itself?

Excellent question, I’m going to try and thread it behind the frame, but I can see it’s going to be a mission.

My plan will be to get everything else’s sorted then ride it to the brake place and have them make it on the bike so it ticks in nicely.

Either that or it’s back to the drawing board with the master cylinder bracket , reworks are all part of my journey it would seem. I should really plan ahead better instead of fumbling into the unknown

I guess you could remove the two locating tabs on the top of the mc, or at least the upper one. Not sure if that's frowned upon or not. But it would give you more options to route the brake line - maybe you'd have room between the rubber hose to the reservoir and the frame?

I have come so close to removing one of those locator tabs on several builds. Is it a sin?

I stopped myself on the CB front brake mc, but largely because the bloody thing cost me so much I couldn't bring myself to chop it. I guess it's to stop the brake line from dislocating, but I'll bet if you tighten the banjo up enough the bugger's not going anywhere.

Go on mate, have at it. And report back :p

Well after being stuck overseas for months I finally got some shed time.

I decided to tackle the 1 and only oil leak that has been a bug bear for too long… the tacho delete

Meet the tacho delete, after making it up, I went to a radiator joint and they welded it up for me.

Finally the leak that couldn’t be fixed is resolved

We shall leak no more….. now to get the logo onto the top triple…. Fingers crossed my last attempt was botched, so we had to fill in the gouge and reface the triple :/
