Fuel stops running, CB360

Dear People,

I've got a bit of a problem with the CB360 cafe, she's running beautiful until i've covered 10 km's and then she quits, running out of gasoline.
The hoses and filters are empty, if I detach the hoses from the fuel cock, the fuel starts running again. When I attach the hose back again the fuel stops running after a second.

What could be the problem?

I placed new hoses/filters, tested two different clean fuel caps and cocks. The carburetors are cleaned ultrasonic.

Looks like the carbs aren't sucking any gas out.

+1. I'm not familiar with cb360 carbs, but there is usually some kind of tubes connected on the center of the carb bodies. Those are the vacuum tubes (to prevent vapor lock).

CB 360 doesn't have any vacuum hoses.
What mods to airbox/exhaust?
There are small brass vent tubes about half way up body, you didn't fit hoses to them? (That would block the vent ;) )

What happens when you pop the gas cap when it does it, and for that matter how full is the tank?

I agree with Brother pj, there is a small brass fitting on the side of each carburetor which is your bowls air vent. Most bowl air vent fittings on the side of carburetors have the vent hole straight out of the fitting and you would attach a tube to them however your carburetors vent fittings should have the vent hole on the bottom of the fitting so if you attach a hose to them it will block the vent. The hole in the brass fitting is also very small in comparison to most carburetor vent holes and can be hard to see sometimes, you can use a torch bit cleaner or small piece of wire to clean the fittings hole and use a spray lube to spray through from the bowl area out through the vent to make sure they are open.

It seems like the vent hole's where the problem! After cleaning the vent hole's the problem is solved! Thnx guys!! 8)

Hey joeyputt,

I've been experiencing exactly what Marc described, and I thought I was losing my mind at first.

Are there two vents on each carb? And I'm running a wire through them, but it's there a better way to clean these out?

Hi Conis and welcome. That's a really old and long dead thread. Not sure what happened to Joeyputt but he hasn't been here for a while.

But back to your question: The asnwer/was that the filler cap has a tiny vent hole and it was blocked. As fuel flowed to the carbs, that creates a partial vacuum and pretty soon, fuel stops flowing. Remove the fuel tank filler cap, if possible, and clean out the vent hole.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot and let you know how I make out!
