Georgia Cafe racers?

Welcome - sounds like our bikes will be done about the same time. Maybe we can go ride in February and see who freezes first.

'75 CB360t just north of Columbus. I've only had it a couple of weeks, but after I get all the gremlins worked out it'll become more and more cafe-esque. So far, drag bars and a (crappy) customized stock seat are all that set it apart from stock.

How she sits now:

Anybody have a set of CL or 2-1 pipes they want to get rid of?

Any riders in Georgia? I've never seen another in state cafe bike besides my own.

I'm here in Marietta, GA. You can see my build coming along slowly. I just started on it. It's over on Caferacer.net under forum --> Project Builds --> The BHarrison Ascot Build

Check it out maybe we could get together and swap some ideas. I'm never done one of these so I'm a little stuck on making a seat. and I'm re-working some of the motor also.

Sweet, what part of Marietta? I'm over right off the square. Checked out your thread on the other forum, looks like a fun project!

Oh god. I wouldn't dare ride my bike over that way. 316, 85, 285.... scary enough in a car. I'm back up and running as of 4 days ago. Managed to ride around the neighborhood and downtown. Still working out some minor kinks. Looking forward to getting 'er cleaned up nice. Hoping for some warm days so I can head north for an overnighter to Brasstown Bald. :)

I'm right by Lassiter High school. Off of Stienhour Rd and shallowford.

Thanks I'm enjoying this build mostly because it's a fairly rare bike but not highly wanted. It was only made for 2 years 82' and 83'. I don't really have any friends that ride nor like this style of bike. So any advice is welcome.

Lassiter? oh man. I used to know a bunch of girls from Lassiter. My bike is a rare one, too. Made in 75 & 76 only.

CB500t. 498cc, actually. Made them in '75 & '76.

mods:
clubman bars
bar end mirrors
smaller turn signals
mini gauges
oil cooler
electric start removed
fenders removed
air boxes, battery tray removed
Dyna III ignition booster
new Shinko tires
new brake light mounted under seat
new chain
new fuel filters & lines
new engine bolt kit
Probably more, but I can't remember it all right now.

Sweet looking lot you have there. I need help with relocating my battery. I can't find a good place for it to go.

On my 175 I picked up a small sealed battery for ~40 online I think. I then fit it sideways under the seat, had to weld a small piece of sheet metal to the frame to act as a tray to hold it. I know a lot people build a place for the battery under bum-stop of their seats.

I got my smaller sealed battery for $25 at Batteries Plus. I could've put it higher under the seat, and I just might If I have to. It is smaller and lighter and good enough for my kick start only. Powers all my lights. My turn signals don't last long due to vibration of the twin.

That's where I was going to put mine but I didn't know what kind of battery I needed for my bike. Not sure where to look.
