Get ace going after sitting for 3 months

Skyteam Ace 125
Hey guys,

My ace wouldn't start last time I was home and im about to head back home and want to get it going.

Its basically brand new and last time I tried to get it going it wouldn't kick over. Made a loudish flicking noise sounding like a battery issue.

Any tips to keep in mind to get it sorted when I return to my ace?

Make sure your battery is fully charged, drain old fuel (including carby) and replace with fresh stuff.

If it still doesn't start post again with a description of result.

Crazy

Also wouldn't hurt to invest in a battery tender, for that length of time idle.

Ok about to get to work getting my ace going, to drain the fuel do I just pull the hose off that runs from the fuel tank to the carb?

Cheers, learning as I go here, its my first ever bike....

Okayyyyy, so....

Just filled the bike up, went to start it and fuel started pouring out the bottom in about 3 spots.

Im going to go ahead and assume this is bad.

Aghhhh help!

nope that doesn't sound good.

Don't suppose you can take a pic & identify where it's coming out from?

Oh when you parked her up you did switch the fuel tap to OFF didn't you?

It appears i may have left the fuel on when i was away :(

Will take pics in the morning when its light.....

There's a possibility it may have flooded the carb

I did some googling and that seems like it might be it.

Or something to do with the floats being stuck?

I know its my fault, just need to find a solution now... :(

I presume you've already turned the fuel tap to the off position.
Next thing that you need to do is remove the carby - this is no big deal. As it's just coming up 11pm here in SinCity, I will leave until tomorrow morning to post detailed info (if needed!).

Crazy

Yep turned fuel off immediately.

Looks like its coming out of the two overflow (?) pipes on the carb.

Need to get that sucker off....

Bike has finally made it from Darwin to Alice, and is now at the mechanic! Hopefully I will be up and rolling next week.

Very exciting!

Ok... excellent news. The ace is going! Picking it up Friday morning. Any tips for running the engine in? Any do's or donts?
