Get ace going after sitting for 3 months

The very bottom hose on the carb is the overflow - do you turn off the fuel when you park up ? Could be dirt in the float needle or a high fuel level that over flows when on the sidestand .

Def not normal and needs to be sorted , can be hard to find where the original leak is , give the fuel lines another good check too.

So took the bike back to the mechanic, he says its the fuel in Alice. However, ive got the same fuel in my crf 230 - no leaks there.

Perhaps I need new seals and a change of fuel?

Do you guys use OPAL fuel out there? Might be that it is messing with the cheap rubber seals in the tap and drain.

Ok so fuel is now just freely dripping out the bottom of the carb.

I think the time has come....

Anyone interested in taking my ace off my hands?

Don't give up yet vonmighty!

It sounds like the Opal could be causing the problem. What fuels are available locally, apart from the Opal?

Even using Opal should be possible if any problem seals and fuel-lines are replaced with something resistant. I would of thought mechanics in Alice would have a handle on the problem by now.

You would think so.

Not having a good week, had house broken into and dirt bike stolen.

Will try a different fuel but it appears the seals will need replacing anyway?

A break-in leaves a very bad feeling, even if nothing of value is taken.

Are you covered by insurance?

It's advisable to replace the seals, they are probably stuffed.
