GL500 / CX, some work is in order to make a good rider!

I paid just ($180) but got no title with it, need to pick it up tomorrow morning. It's a GL which has a few differences vs. the CX500. The mono shock and the ignition. Along with supposedly better front forks which have air valves.

I would like to hear any advice you have on the GL model! I only have experience with my old CX, here are finished pics of it, (it's black). I actually put 15,000 miles on it over only 2 years and was still perfect after I regretted selling it Just 6 months ago!

Despite a roached tank, headlight, and seat etc. most important things seem to be intact. I would rather find bikes like this that are just bone stock then buy a basketcase/ disassembled project that someone has worked on (without care). Atleast I know the carbs are here and havent been messed with or missing internals. Then obv rust is a big factor, pitting or severe rot on stuff like the H pipe is not fixable or polishable and costly $$$. These things are whats important, like straight front forks and useable oem parts.

The GL should be a great project. I was offered on recently, but have no place to store it and have other projects in the works. Have fun with it!

Hello
I love all Hondas with this type of engine: great sound with a propper exhaust :)
I have almost bought one for my little project, but got scared: no mechanical experience, no mechanical hardware, no garage :D
Went with one cylinder and two valves instead, but Honda CX/GL sticks in my head :D
