I agree with all comments here. Given my lack of mechanical knowledge and the fact that the bikes look relatively (I use that loosely) similar, my conclusion would reside in the ride of each. If it were me, I would ride both of them in the same day and make the decision on which one "fits" me best.

If it were me I would get the F800R like Tim suggested. Any of the other bikes are nice but I rode that 800 the other day and it was so smooth and consistent through the throttle/gears. Great fighter style bike.

Tech can be good and bad. I personally like the FZ. It's got the heritage of the R1/R6 behind it. The Kawi just LOOKS so bulky to me. I have a really good friend that was a team mechanic for the Attack/Kawi team...and he rode an R1 as his personal bike, that has always been a resonating point in my memories.

Like one of our fellow forum brothers stated above, you gotta go with what "fits" you best...and for me, that's always been "blue" lol.

I'm always fascinated when a mechanic for 1 major motoring group has the competitors for the daily cheers ;D

IF I were buying something like that I assume it's for regular long haul use not fun - so I'd buy a car and a Guzzi V7

So I am no help either, although if your heart is set on one of the two, I like the looks of the Yamamha better and Have read both bikes are very close performance numbers wise but the yammie is more refined, Kawi more raw.

Go to the dealer, get him to strip them down, grind all the tabs, polish and chrome. Hack the seat, get rid if everything unnecessary and then you'll know what it's going to be like after you've finished, then choose the coolest looking one....

Ive always been a Ducati and MV guy...and I would choose the triple!!!
