Hey y’all I’m a hobbiest builder here in Green Bay, I’ve been on a “Nightmare” build for 4 years now. Now this Beast is a 1982 CM450E. I found it buried in a back yard covered in tarps, which is where it was parked 13yrs prior. I got it home stripped it down cleaned it up put it back together, and that’s where my headaches began... lol pressing on, my first tease was new spark plugs a little spray of wd-40 in each cylinder and let it set overnight while I cleaned out the carbs. Added a clean flow of gas to the carbs and a new battery crossed my fingers and fired it right up!!!! Tadah! Well... It ran like a bag o shiitake but it ran. Now on to the next episode. The rest of this story is available on Audible(not rally), read by somebody that sounds like a cross between Screetch and Joe Pesci... for effect..

Welcome, my first bike was an 81 CM400T that became a 450 after a complete motor destructing piston melt down.

Welcome, nice save on the cm450. That's a comfy looking seat, is that your handiwork?
Yes and with help thank you! I made the pan, cut and added the foam have a friend owner of an Upholstery shop stitch it up. I thought the faux alligator was a nice touch. Lol
New racing carbs, because I wanted the pods, which wont work on OEM cv. swept the exhaust into 2-1 with a 1 1/2 tail. Fiberglass wrap. LOUD!!! Tires are 130r and 110f kendas super sticky. Hardest part is the wiring so far... ugh... I need help.

Sparkmoto. Can get a custom harness or just the bita and pieces to do it yourself and anything in between. I rewired my whole GL that was trashes by a deer with his FB-11 and it was easy. Removed a lot of wire that honda thought was needed that isnt

Well, I have the bike wired correctly...I think.
Turnsigs dont flash but I have the correct led solenoid. now after all I've been through so far in these last 4yrs... I should name this thing Elenore! Cause I dont trust her. Lol

On my old CM the signals would only flash when the bike was running. IDK why, I had an LED flasher but they would light solid with the bike off, start it up and they'd blink.

ok, thats wierd? Ill try that next. so question about the wiring,
I dont know how to read the wiring diagram to make sense, and I called the only shop willing to work on this and theyre saying theyd want like $400 just to connec and shorten the wires... Im at the end of my rope on this bike. any advice? thanks

Greetings. My first bike is a 81 CM400T. I've been bitten by the cafe craze, and I'm looking to make mine into a small more cafe bike. Complete with improved suspension, full fairing, rearsets, and really cool sounding exhaust. Any and all tips are welcome. My daily driver is a 2005 HD XL883C Sportster, and I drive the crap out of it. But I'd really like to be able to 'lean' into the corners where I live without dragging an exhaust pipe, footpeg, etc. I especially want to avoid the kick out, when that happens. So I figured making my CM400T into a cafe would be a fun excercise, and keep me modestly out of danger while carving some country roads.

I'm also looking for books, websites, etc on Motor improvements if there is such a thing for these.

Any way any and all help appreciated.

Thanks.
