gs550 "78 project no 3 agh !

cheers mate, well the weather is getting better and the days a little longer so soon be back in the shed to start back on the project , got to finish up the frame so I can get it painted , once the motor goes back in I can then get it rolling

Hi all, long time since the last update and shit loads of world wide crap too, hope your all well and safe i've been locked down since February with the missus due to her condition but we've got thru it so its time to get back to finishing this project . Upto now ive got a few bits done or started ,mostly painting and polishing took a little time to clean up and smooth out the 70's welding hopefully giving a cleaner look to the frame and a glimpse of the final colour although the pics don't do the colour justjustice

Pics are out of order right. Silver base wirh a candy red on top for the frame?
yup still getting the hang of this new style forum haha , yep the colour is really eye popping just the pics don't show it so well thought ide try something a little radical instead of the standard black rest of the tin wear has a accent of candy red two hopefully it will work as a combo also using a inframe rear light set up

Bloody hell that's nice. Love the frame colour. And what'll it take to prise that Ogri poster off your wall?

Cheers mate she is coming along now, shame the pics don't do justice to the colour of frame its so deep shine with the sparkle too came out really good to say I sprayed it in the back yard when we had a spell of hot weather got some of the tin work done too as usual here's a few pics of what I'm trying to say

I love your attention to detail, Yorkie. The gold stripes on the frame and the details around the VIN are great. I also love that there's a baseball glove hanging in an English garage.

Thanks guys haha yeah sometimes get a little "steve Mc'queen" in great escape and sit bouncing the ball off the wall haha started with the wiring ( argh ) dark art so slow down a fair bit think she's gonna be a looker when she's done

Interesting. I see that you have your clip ons mounted so the handlebar is coming off the back of the fork tube rather than the front. I'm going to have to do some measuring and see it that's possible on my bike. If I can do that and still have the controls clear the tank it might make enough difference to keep my throttle hand from going completely numb. Nice work on the GS, mate, it's a work of art.

Well I said it was a slow burner but i'm slowly gathering momentum coming across all the little details i did'nt sort before i tore her down gonna make sure on the next project causing a few headaches for any one thinking of cutting corners agh  still here are a few pics of how shes coming along , got the carbs on and fitted the battery box started to re fit the exhausts and started the seat fitting
