Hey Ton-ers. I'm looking for someone, anyone, with experience in basic bike tuning. I'd rather not take the bike to a shop, I'm really looking for someone who would be willing to show and tell. I've got a CB350 twin that just isn't running the way it ought to, and I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who's be willing to give me some in-person help. I can pay you in brews or with cash by the hour, if you'd prefer. I'm in Brooklyn by Prospect Park, but can travel short distances on the bike to get to you. PM me if you can help!

Are the running issues related to bad mods?

Just pony up and go to works engineering in Williamsburg.
They will sort you out.
No reason to have a none running bike.

Way more value in learning to KEEP a bike running then learning to make a bike run

No, I've got everything stock on the bike. I'll take the bike to a shop as a last resort, but I'd really prefer to have some hands on experience. I can have the bike off the road for a few days if it means I learn a little something as well.

No guaranty some other armature mechanic will be able to repair your bike, or teach you the right way to work on things.

The factory manual does a good job of walking you through tune ups and other basics.
MUCH better to keep things stock for now.
Search out the NYCVinMoto yahoo mailing list.
They hold classes from time to time, mostly in the spring.
Go to the motorcycle show at works engineering in Sunday.
I only know of one guy that does side work that I trust in the area, PM me and I'll pass on his number.
