BradJ just hooked me up with these killer pipes for the RD. Look to be a nice streetable design, but other than that I have no info. Only identifying marks are the "Dean Maros PIPELYNE" decals.

Google had been no help thus far. Just wondering if any of you fine folks have ever heard of or seen this particular brand of exhaust. Thanks in advance!

The decal actually says 'Dean Maros' not Marco, but still not a hell of a lot of info. He had a website but looks like it is no longer up - http://www.pipelyne.com/

The only info I found about him is:

Yeah... Typo on my part. Sorry.

Maybe I'll just give him a call and see if I can get some info. Just wondering what kind of motor I need to build to suit the pipes. Horse before the cart and all that lol.

Doesn't seem as if building expansion chambers for 40+ year old Yamahas is(was) the core of their business lol. The phone number matches up though.

Figured it was a typo but wanted to mention it just in case, so you wouldn't be chasing the wrong guy. Cool looking pipes so hope you can get some info on them. Keep us updated.
 
Called Pipelyne. Goes to voicemail. Hopefully they'll get back to me at some point.

I did find a forum post from a few years back saying that these pipes were made in the 70s by a Pipelyne employee and trail rider named Phil Reyes. Can't speak to the truth of that, but neat nontheless.

Seems to be what I'm getting as well, from the minute trace of info available. Pulling some numbers off of them to send someone way smarter than me this week. We shall see what's up.
 
Well. A very cool guy just called me back from Pipelyne. They are their pipes and they are for an RD350/400. He was amazed that I had them and that you could still read the original decals. Just kept saying, "oh man, really!?". Told me they made hundreds of them in the 70s but most didn't make it East, at least he didn't think so. Anyhow, I emailed him the pics I had and he's going to get back to me with any info he may have. Ended the phone call with him telling me to call anytime and he'd help out any way he could. Really cool experience all around.
 
That's a great story, I bet you made his day. Must be nice to hear your pipes are still being used all these years later.
 
Holy crap!!!

Dean Maros himself was the man on the phone. He just emailed me back. I sent him some pics and aparently these were pre mass production pipes.

Made in '74 or '75. Less than 50 sets were ever produced.

Me too. There are no ID numbers or anything like that so it's not like I can trace their history. But, it's still awesome all around. Brad picked them up in Morgantown so I do know that.
