Hello from Scotland!

Hey folks,

I have been a lurker here for a while and always find this site useful when looking for ideas/problems solving.

A bit of background, I am a hairy whisky swilling Scottish Engineer by day confined to a desk and laptop 9-5, by night I like to get stuck in with motorcycles modifying and learning whilst I go. I set up "remotorcycled" as an opportunity to share my learnings and adventure customising my Yamaha TT600. See below pictures of completed bike (I'll do a wee build thread on that at some point).

I needed a place to keep track of my latest project, a 1981 XS850 which I have grand plans for. I am midway through this project (trying to capture the majority though my Youtube channel) with ambitions to continue to develop my skills on this build (custom parts, custom pie cut exhaust, working with carbon fibre).

The xs850 will be called "panther" taking inspiration from the animal. I'll explain all in my build thread!

Up in the oil field base camps. Not any more. I lived in Perth for years but that was a looooong time ago. Still have relatives there but have not visited for few years. Scotland is a ruggedly beautiful place with a history that was not exactly all beer and skittles. Spent a lot of time in the Cairngorms as a kid but never got up to Aberdeen.
 
Welcome. Back in the late '70's, I was on a sub out of Holy Loch. Of course, we saw very little of the country due to work schedule. I did get to go with three other shipmates up the chain of lochs to Inverness, back down to Edinburgh, and one other time a tour of Stirling.

so I grew up outside Perth (Blairgowrie) and love that part of the world.Yeah the Cairngorms are amazing, especially on a bike...if it stays dry enough!

some of the adjacent loch roads are amazing! you certainly managed To see some good areas the limited time you were there
