;) what direction do you think iI should take with this 400 cc thumper?

I'm not too keen on your headlight mount. Think "ears" would look better.
But I LOVE the rear fender treatment!!!

I think it looks pretty sick the way it is. If you're really itchin to change it up, why not just change the color scheme, although there's nothing wrong with it. Maybe get some new rubber/bigger wheels and re-cover the seat.

I would lower the front end a bit so she sits level and call it good. I think the OCC bikes are way to flashy. Besides who wants to ride a 12 foot long motorcycle any way? I'd ride your 400 over one of those bikes any day.

I was only kidding aout the occ cycles, i like mine better too! I want to get some different bars so I can slide the forks up into the triples an inch or so, and a bigger rear tire. The EX400 headlights are nice and bright, with hi and lo beam but I dont know if they would pass inspection because they are plastic. You are right though, they do look pretty goofy! The thing I really need to do is move the oil tank, it's pretty vulnerable to getting holed by one of the 8mm bolts on the engine right behind it. I did score a sweet glass tailight at the flea market here in winnipeg last weekend, made in england . I took some pics but the batteries in the camera died. I 'll post them later, I think I got a good deal for 7 bucks

Hell, I like the looks of the dual headlights from that view! All I could see before was the top mount that doubled for the speedo. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eatin crackers ;)

ok here's the tailight , the fender is from a Yamaha 250 Special, the only non Honda part on the bike the except for the top engine mount bolts (dodge)

I went to princess auto today and scored 2 high mount brake lights from the surplus section for $10, just for the sockets and bulbs. I will use one for running light and the second one for stop. I'd really like to get plates for this thing this year, I've put on 2000 miles since I put it together, all backroads and at night lol. according to the speedo it does 90 Mph, maybe if I build a proper exhaust instead of the lawn tractor muffler I'll hit the ton .

In da house he he.I don't know who is more pissed off, my wife or Winston...Winston is not a fan of the Honda, he does his damndest to pull me off of it even if i sit on it in the kitchen, the cross eyed 140 pound mofo that he is lol. I still have scars from the go cart fiasco.Note to self- don't let off the gas if Winston is keeping up...now if my wife would only try to pull me off...

and this is why the wife is mad (esides the fact that it's in the kitchen) I used the laundry hamper sack to get the lace effect, now it's got some gold paint on it lol

Ok, I'm in the middle of re-doing my seat. no pic right now, it's at the f'n ugly stage. Just some foam glued to some styro. wish I knew where the electric turkey knife is..but on a positive note, I've found a 74 cb 550 engine locally for $200, with carbs, exhaust and stator. What do you guys think? the 400ex motor is plenty fast, and its in there already....but...?? It all comes down to $ I guess. After I buy the 550, I 'll still need to spend I'm guessing $300 more to get it in the bike and running. Chain, sprocket, carb kits, carb sync tool blahblah where as all I need for the 400 is a starter clutch and flywheel $320 just for the s-clutch (both on ebay right now for about $60) even so, if I hang on to the b pillar on the car while scotts doppleganger joel gets the malibu up to 60 k she starts no prob in 4th from cold. warm, i can bump it in 1st

you are right kev nemo, a smaller tank would totally change the bike the 400 engine is pretty good lookin if i strip the bar b q paint off and polish it up. right now the tank kinda hides it. Plus i'm recovering from a broken femur, so it would be nice to have some thing a little skinnier on there.

Well, the engine turned out to be a cx 500, so it looks like the ex 400 stays! anyone here in Manitoba (Winnipeg) looking for a cx motor it's a good deal, $200 with the rad and everything, pm me I'll give you the phone number.
