Help Save my local Drive-in Movie Theater!

Dragonfish

Slightly Obnoxious
At the end of this year, all movie theaters are required to use digital projectors. There are hundreds of Drive-Ins across the US that will not have the $85,000 needed for the conversion. Honda has decided to donate the upgrade to 9 theaters (so far 5 chosen, 4 left). They are letting people vote for which theater to save. Please go here once a day and vote! This theater is two blocks away from my house and it would be a huge loss if they close. Please send as many people as you can to this link!

You can vote once a day so please vote often! Thanks guys!

I drove past that a couple of weeks ago. Is it still in operation? If so I'll go up there and watch a movie. There's something fun and uniquely American about drive ins even though they do exist elsewhere.

I was there last night actually, triple feature. They were running Monsters U, then Grown Ups 2 followed by Riddick. Really fun time, and the owner is a great guy.

Wow I can't remember when was the last time I went to a drive-in movie, I don't remember if it was Beverly Hills cop or Breakin' anyway put in a vote for you.

That's insanity. Why the mandated digital? Makes no sense to me? Power consumption?

Ohhhh after going to the link its not a mandate, it's the movie industry Is no longer going to produce movies on film. Just digital.

Still sucks.

Slightly Off Topic but do you get down to Economy Cycles at all Dragonfish? I have avoided them for years until I needed something in a hurry for an RZ350 and they had what I needed in stock. Good people. I'm trying to get John to organize a gathering at his shop so that the smokers in the region have a reason to actually meet face to face.

No never been there. We have a couple local shops that will work on older bikes. MotoRider and Red Line Cycles. Been in MotoRider twice and both times they were dicks. Red Line is good people. I'll look up Economy Cycles though, I drive by every day and I keep seeing an RD out front.

1- I voted for your drive-in Todd! I believe yours is the closest drive-in to me.

2- Richard- I'm in for meeting up at Economy if/when John get's something organized. Maybe he can have a charity BBQ to save the drive-in :D... I mean it's only like 4 miles up Sheridan rd. from his shop.
( I need to paint my RD's tanks and side cover and I'm smoking again, I did sell that GT550 )
