Joined in 2018 but never introduced myself. I had a cafe racer loaned to me in '76 for the summer (72 suzuki gt380, clipons & rearsets). 30 years later I got my first bike! Now the joke is even I don't know how many bikes I have, but they range from pseudo chopper to full dress touring to vintage cb550f. Still haven't replaced that first cafe racer but I'm workin on it. Started on an '82 cb650sc, hooped the frame, switched out the tank, older style gauges, and started on a bum-stop seat. And then the project stalled ( bathroom remodel & life) so as I prepare to restart, I'm waffleing on the best seat style, as the bars will not be clipons, I can't be comfy bent over that much. So I'm seeking opinions on how to proceed...bumstop or brat style seat (with a decent cushion in it. It would be fun to finish it in time to take it to Sewickly Pa. In August.

Hi K. Cool 650 project. Have you been to the CRM RRI show in Sewickely before? Good times down there. I have only been twice but it is on my summer list for now on. I talked to a few people from Buffalo down there. I am just south of you, near Chautauqua Lake. If you need any parts for that CB650 shoot me a message as I have a parts machine. Happy building.

Thanks snout, no haven't been to sewickly before, but it looks like a good time with like minded folks. It would be fun to get a small group together to make it a weekend trip. Do you know if there is camping available nearby?

I am not sure. I always rode down and back same day. A small group camp out would be fun. I will do some looking into it this weekend. It is a neat venue, small park in a quaint town that looks like it was where the industrialist white collar guys lived.. Nice people in and visiting the show. CRM's HQ is near bye. A local shop owner tipped me off to where it is...here's a pic!

Raccoon creek campground is 1/2 hour away from the park, I've got a crew cab and a 3-bike trailer. We might be able to collect a couple more people and make it the western new york contingent to the show. Is this how road trips 8get started? Why not, there isn't anything else like that on the events calendar. Usually stuff like this is weather permitting, but this time it might be "virus permitting"!
