HollywoodMX's xv920/TR1 Cafe super-dupe!

Yeah, wasn't cheap, but I knew I wanted to keep it from looking too cluttered with add-ons, so this way you won't really see anything till they're lit, it's very stealthy, another bonus is that I can swap it out to another bike very easily.

I'm not familiar with that HD rear light setup, does it communicate with another brain or is the brain just for the auto cancel part? How many wires? From what bike?
All else fails, contact a HD service center and ask them how it works.

Actually It's my tail light that has the brain. But Harley's use the rear signal lights as brake lights too. So when u click left the right stays solid and all three provide a break light when breaking. So the harness had controls for all that.

My custom harness is going really well. I bought connectors and such to make it more pro. I have been doing little mechanical things at the same time to break up the electrical work too.

Made good progress on the harness, man is that shit boring... I think I will be done tomorrow, thank god!

Red switch is for stealth mode. All lights will turn off but all other bike power is functional. You can guess what that is for. :)

P.S. I know wiring pics are not exciting but man does it take time...lol.

just checking back in............some brilliant progress. sounds awesome 8) 8) 8)

Ok the wiring is pretty much done and ready for cleanup and hiding. Never get me to estimate the time it takes to wire again because I will likely will not make the commitments due to hopes of being done sooner than I expected it to take...lol. What a bitch! I plan up cleaning up the fuse mounting with a better setup. Waiting for it to arrive.

P.S. I am in love with liquid electrical tape!

Made a gauge mount for my wide band, all hand made.

You love liquid electrical tape? Lol
I much prefer heatshrink that has the glue that hermetically seals the connections, I use western-union-wire-splice that's soldered, it makes nice clean splices that are super strong.

Looking good man! Those wires are out of control, I love it!

Hey, I'm looking to get a new throttle tube/housing & custom length cables. What's your set up?

I heard motion pro can make custom cables (throttle & clutch) but haven't confirmed.

Oh I'm using tonnes of heat shrink too. But there are certain situations that call for something more pliable. Especially when you have 3 into one splices or want to fill in some cavities. I also like the extra security in some places where it's liquid tape and heat shrink.

Most of my connection are that type and all connections are soldered including each pinned connector. I like being able to pull connections and not have the wire pull out of the pin, leaving the pin in the connector.

I have motion pro fcr cables and domino throttle. The domino puts the adjusters too close together. I'm going to have to mod things including cutting the cable ends and making my own. It's gonna be an annoying task to be honest. I could get motion pro to make cables to my spec I suppose which would be work to setup as well.

What throttle rate (i.e. degree/mm) did you go with on that domino? Looks like you got the #1335.03 maybe??
I'm still trying to define what I'm looking for but definitely want something middle to middle-fast in terms of throttle quickness.
Any suggestions?

I'm not sure. I don't remember seeing other throttle cams for the pull/pull setup just push/pull.

To be honest I have been building this bike so long. I rode it stock 2 blocks when I got it almost 3 years ago and nothing since. I have sacrficed so much time building it and the others bikes that are in similar completion status I just want to ride the fricken thing lol. Since I can clock the throttle and making custom cable size I'm sure I can get the right throttle action without cams. Plus these bikes with the right mods Rev out pretty fast so you are shifting before you know it.

My busa on the other hand needs a shorter cam because I can't clock the throttle because it's fixed for safety.

Yeah I hear ya on the 'just want to friggin get on the road'.
I measured the stock throttle on mine (xv750) and I got 150 degrees of rotation (or which makes sense if you're sayin these things rev out fast. 150 degrees on a modern bike is WAY too much, hell I can't even get my wrist to twist WOT. 120 degrees (or about 2 degrees/mm) is more like it.

Talked to motion pro today, looks like I can go the burger king route with them and have it my way.

On my tracker "when it was running" on the single FCR, I didn't have any issues with the stock throttle. Stock the bikes rev like you would expect a vintage bike to rev. A few mods and they start reving out pretty fast. Thing is you can hit the stock RPM limit too fast once you open these things up as the power doesn't die off at red line.

What specs did motion pro ask for?

I'm using a Motion Pro R1 style throttle, modified to use only one pull cable. Not their Revolver throttle with the changeable cams.

Nuckingfuts I forgot, I actually used the R1 described above on my tracker not the stock one. I forgot I had a couple R1 throttles kicking around and the stock one is in my old parts bin.

That's actually a good idea taking a push/pull R1 throttle and just using 1 cable with it. Gives the kind of rate that I'm a custom to since I ride liter bikes for track.

I'll look into picking one up to try out.

I tested the domino. It's 60 degrees rotation from 0. Thats pretty hard core actually.

Dang!! That's super aggressive if you're pulling 35+mm of cable. Drag racing will be fun with that bike.

Ya should be interesting to say the least! It's so fast I'm thinking it will make the jetting harder to tune as the circuit transitions would be happening that much faster.

Well I back from two weeks vacation. Got some goods while I was away. Put on the new custom brake lines. Tackled more of the wiring, I'm in the home stretch now.
