Honda Shadow v2.0

Been Around the Block
So you can see my first iteration HERE. I started the second one nearly two years ago now...I just haven't had the kind of free time to work on it that I had with the first one. And I've forgotten to share my progress here.

The cliffs here are it's an RC44 Shadow 750. Forks are CBR600. Wheels, shock, and swingarm are Ducati 950S. I've only just now gotten my exhaust mocked up...hoping, without much hope, that I'll actually be able to ride it by spring.

...plus gotta get a selfie making motorcycle noises in the shop...

The subframe and exhaust work looks good man, I agree with Teazer has a great street flat-tracker look to it.. Would love to see some photos of how you mounted the new subframe and how you made that ducati swingarm work.

The subframe is SUPER simple, a loop and two struts. I'm probably going to have all the wiring and electronics under the tank so the only thing the subframe will have to do is hold my butt in the air.

The swingarm was, in a way, quite easy. I just cut the back half of the frame off then rebuilt it around the swingarm. I had to go 1mm out on the motor to slip the pivot bolt through but it made for an extremely simple conversion overall. I built bracing up from the bottom of the frame to support the pivot and carried it over through to a new backbone for the shock. Also built up plates on the ends to support the pivot and to mount my rearsets to. Needs some gusseting but this is essentially the gist of it.

Thanks for posting the photos and explanation. Your geometry on the subframe is great to my eye, and the Ducati swingarm was a pretty damn cool direction to go.. looking forward to seeing more
