How much life is left in older brake parts?

So like most of us here I'm working on an older bike. I was installing new bearings in my front wheel last night and I noticed the MAX 111 DIAMETER on the inside of the drum. I decided to quick measure it and I'm about 109.979.

So the question I have with those that have had experience with setups like this is given a mostly low braking route, how much life can expect to get from these drums?

I plan to do a disc brake conversion in the front eventually but even the rotors that I have only have about a millimeter each left before it is technically out of range.

Depending on your riding style, over a MM should get you plenty of life left. Especially since your planning on swapping over to disc later on.

If you don't let drums get rusty so needing cleaning (and thinning liner/opening diameter), 1.5 mm of cast iron will last a few decades or couple hundred thousand miles of use
