Hunter S. Thompson on Cafe Racers

I guess maybe there is something more "irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge."

For any of you guys that haven't read it yet, I highly suggest you check out his book "Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga" It's a great read, and of course, motorcycle related :p

I read as much as I could on Amazon, I will definitely be buying it! His writing style may not be for everyone but I enjoy it.

Great read, thanks for posting.

Took some time to look for some pics of HST riding a BSA. I had no luck. What I found was a picture of Hunter taken with several other pics of HA members. It shows Hunter riding on what I believe is a 40's-50's Triumph. I also found an undated picture of a young HST sitting on a Triumph. There are three more images of Thompson, older version, astride a Penton dirt bike, a Harley, and a Ducati SS (sausage creature photos). Also I think there is a pic of Thompson riding a Triumph with the Angels in his book, but my memory is fuzzy and I haven't been able to locate my book to verify.

"when I walk into a public restroom and hear crippled men whispering about the terrifying Kawasaki Triple"....that's why I'm building one  8) Funny how that stream of consciousness style of his seemed so radical at the time and yet spoke to so many. Johnny Depp got to know him to portray him in a movie and stayed a friend.

The line "shot out of a cannon rather than squeezed out of a tube" takes on a final meaning at his funeral!
