I can kill you with a plastic baby spoon......

Swagger

Putting boot to ass since 1967!
It's been a while since I've been able to do more than peek in now and again. In the intervening months I've moved out of an apartment into a house with a usable garage, lost the shop (meh) and have basically started over.....again. It's been a lesson in streamlining, I've gotten rid of most of the bikes, several cars, a truckload of toys and one time/money sponging anchor around my neck.

I see some familiar faces here, loads of new guys, still one or two wankers stirring up shit (why do the mgnt allow a few trolls to prosper here?) and some pretty nifty builds among a lot of good first tries, missteps and....well, scary bodge jobs but ya give credit where you can.

Let's see what else......I finally got motivated after a long bad spell and have lost 80lbs since December 1, '11. Was a bit sausage like there for a while, depression eating will catch up to you. If your eating and fitness habits are bad, they WILL catch up to you. I'll be 45 in November and should be ~90lbs lighter that the birthday prior. Feels good. Food sucks, 2.5-3 hours a day in the gym is a big chunk of time, but I've only got 25lbs to go and I'll be down to ~220 maybe 225 @ 11-12% body fat depending on how much mass I put back on by then. Next Saturday I'm running in the Warrior Dash here in Portland, should be pretty interesting to see how much payoff this has been other than the lost weight.

I will be updating the build threads sooner than later, especially the 920 as it's my primary transportation for the near future but the Sakura bike will likely get some attention soon, there were some 11th hour updates that occurred just about the time I had to go radio silent.
Hope all you forum 'oldtimers' are doing great, I look forward to chatting with all of you soon!
Later,
El Presidente

Hey Swag! Glad to hear everything is turning around for the better for you. I'm just about to head off to bed, but I'll sleep a little bit easier tonight (morning, whatever........).

This makes my heart rest a whole lot easier reading this. I can't promise you that I haven't been worried about you. Sounds like things are on the mend which I knew would be inevitable. Love you (not so big) dude.

Sounds like your forcing several healthy choices to take place in your life. Change can be hard. Great job. Once these new good habits become your old good habits...life will get a whole lot sweeter.

I was starting to think you indeed found and fell of the edge of the world! Welcome back!

Glad I logged on today. I'm happy for you amigo. Good shit.

The warrior dash is hard. Good luck!

Heard of the Tough Mudder? I'm training for that right now. It's insane, but there's beer at the end.

Warren Buffett once said, "“In a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.”
Glad you're doing well brother

Oh he of the glorious shining and all knowing appendage. It is beyond great to hear that you're kicking ass and taking names again. You sir are a real grade A bad ass.

Amigo, you never fail to make me grin!
In fact, thanks much to all of you who've helped me thru this garbage with positive words and energies. I have no doubt that it would be (and would have been) far more difficult without you all pulling in your own colorful ways. A man should not be measured by the wealth in his pockets, but by his wealth in friends.
I am a rich man indeed.

GLAD YOUR BACK BROTHER!!!! fresh start usually brings awesome results in bikes! with your skill it is going to be awesome!

Good lord it feels like we're getting the band back together. Takes a lot more than that to slow down Swag for long. Congrats on the positive change boss, and welcome home.

Just think of how fast your bike will go now with your new and improved lighter self. I lost a few pounds this year and it feels good when your belt doesn't cut off your breathing when you bend over. Enjoy it.
