At my business we have a girl who works for us whose boyfriend is a machinist. This morning he told me that he has permission to use the equipment after hours and if I ever need anything made to holler at him and we'd go up there and do it. Lathes, mills, auto-cad, etc! Now I'm trying to think of something to make so I have an excuse to go up there and play with the big toys. The only bike I want rear-sets on already has them so that's out. Any suggestions for a first project with an expert machinist helping and access to the best tools?

I already have a shaved and polished triple on my 750 that looks real nice. My 350 however, is rocking the triple with the giant holes for the rubber mounted bars...
That's a good option. I'm also thinking that a mount for the twin headlights i'll be mounting on my naked goldwing would be nice to do.

Hey, if you do a fork brace design for 350's I would be interested in one! Greg

The bore kit is already happening for my 750. And I'm using the stock fender brace on my 350 so I won't need to make one for it.

Maybe start with something fairly simple (like rearsets) so you don't "wear out the welcome" before you even get to know the guy.....

Rear sets are simple, but I don't need a set. I'm thinking the headlight mount for my wing will be the best 'warm up project.'

I say hubs for wheels. Nothing better than big nice brakes on vintage spoked wheels (esp. allou hoops and stainless spokes) build hubs with correct spacing for the forks with carriers for a nice modern cbr rotor front and rear...

You mentioned a naked glossing... if you want a top tree, I've got cad data for one I made I can send you.
