Im putting a solo seat on my xj650 bobber project. Its not a rigid so im just going to go with a solid mount seat pan. Im cant seem to figure a way out to mount it to my frame. The frame section its over is 2 straight tubes. The front ive been able to mount using the factory mount so it slides under the gas tank but the back is killing me. Im trying to keep it as close to the tubing as possible for looks. I dont have alot of open space around it either. Theres gotta be some way of mounting it without it being perminant. Does someone make mounts that can used inplace of the spring mounts?

Lets see some pics. If you've got a solid mount up front, and want it to sit on the rails at the back, then just some rubber bushings on the seat to rest on the frame and you're done.

But pics will help a ton.

Ill get some pics up later.

I like the rubber mount idea but its not a solid mount up front, its a slip fit. Basically just a tab on the seat pan that slips between the frame and tank.

Most of these solo seats mount firmly up front on a hinge or pivot mechanism and then the back is supported by springs if you want some bounce or just resting on the frame.

A lot of sport bike seats are slip fit under the tank in the front and use two bolts in the rear. You can get (or make) kits that use threaded pins and “R” clips to hold the seat on.
You can do the same, but on the bottom. Have two holes in the frame rails that the pins drop into and use R clips or bolts to secure.

Ive seen those DCC ones before but i didnt want to do a springer.

Heres what i have to work with. I may end up buying an actual solo seat rather than makeone so i can get the mounting points and just have it done. Id have to weld in a cross bar to mount the seat flip though and im trying to avoid welding on the frame if possible.
