A while back, t71ford posted a pic of the new 1199 Panigale. It got me thinking about this little beauty from a couple years ago:

Ducati's race replica Desmosedici RR.

I like to think that I'll keep bolting together two-wheeled machines, but this bike represents everything I could possibly hope to do. And there's no way I could top this beauty. Maybe I should hang up the wrench! ::)

All kidding aside, I was staring at this pic today for the thousandth or so time and thought I'd share. And it also occured to me that every other bike forum has a thousand-page 'inspiration' thread. So how bout we start one (and keep it going). Post em up! (cause I'm sick of going to svrider.com for an inspiration thread!)

Ever since this bike was first released I wanted one. I was still in high school then, but I still want one and would give my left nut, and a bunch more to own one.

Though for some, the ugliest bike ever built I love it... as long as it is the blue and yellow model.

To some, this may look like another over the top streetfighter... But I see enough naked steel to get a chubby. I lusted after this since the press release announced it's existence. I have no idea what MSRP will be, or if they will ever start making them. I keep this picture under my mattress. It's called a Highland Viking for those who don't know. And Staffy, I think that bike looks sweet. What is it exactly?

I've got so many "inspiration" bikes but I guess these figure very strongly (warning there is a theme! :) )

Mind you this has been doing it for me recently

If I could recreate something that did justice to either of those I'd be a happy bunny.

I have to pay homage to Spidermans CB, this is the reason I started my build and lusted after a style called "cafe racer":

this thread should carry the warning "Tissue's at the ready" was never a fan of the BMW, but wow the 2 stroke stuff :p
here's a few, a sweet honda that's been on my computer for ages, love them flat trackers, sweet CZ 250 racer and a suzuki RG500 2stroke powered scooter (just for the insanity of it)

That's the BMW K1, one of their first production bikes to run the inline 4 engine that they developed to bring another line alongside their airhead boxers. I think that bike was about 87-88 release, but I could be wrong. Actually, that would've put me squarely in primary school. Shit I did get into bikes early!

Good god, I saw one of these for the first time in person this summer in Indy the night before the motoGP race. The sound of that bike is out of this world definitively to of my list when I win the lottery haha

Manx Norton. Every cafe racer wants to be this bike, but never will. Perfect.

Good thread! 8)

I know it's photoshopped, but every time I see a zx10r that's been smacked and is for sale cheap, I think about this.

I don't think I could build it as "clean" as this pic, but it'd be fun trying.

Yeah that thing sounds amazing. Heads up the absolute top of my list as well.

I know it doesn't rival high end sport bikes or super clean modified customs, but the "2 stroke-er" in me loves this! It's the only pic I've ever seen of this, but I love it! :D

Looks like a Kawi Triple in a Yammy RZ frame. I actually started a project like this, but then woke up and sold the RZ. :p

Maybe some day... :-\
