Nice one Adam, another Brisvegas member is always cool ;D

There's someone around Brissie with a cafe'd GS450 that I've now seen at the Laverda Concours and the swap meet at the Australian Motorcycle Museum... haven't managed to catch up with them and find out who they are yet, I only seem to see the bike...

Hi all,

I'm in Perth. I have a couple of bikes. Here's a picture of the BSA B44 that I imported. A few people worked on it with my brother being the one who provided the most expertise, unfortunately he live 400Ks up the road. Still the old girl is licensed and sound absolutely bee-utiful. The other bike is a Suzuki T500, my brother currently has that and we're in the process of getting it back to license-able condition.

cheers

Patrick.

Hi guys,

I've been on here a while in some of the build sections, thought I'd introduce myself to the Australian portion of the forum.

My business, Suus is busy building unique small capacity bikes and parts, as well as stocking quality rider apparel. You can see the 2 bikes we have just taken to Speed Week at Lake Gairdner this year below:

The Skyteam is now back together and being used as a mule for custom parts in between our work on a little D5 Bantam.

Hi all, My name is Steven and I live near Ipswich Qld. Have owned the Thruxton for 3 years now. It is a great bike and I have done allot of mods - mainly to suspension front and rear. My wife rides and my 3 boys come on the back (but not altogether).

G'day,

Well it's been a while nearly 5 yrs to be exact since I first started my Cafe project and have started the ball rolling again in the last month.

I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and are getting excited...LOL. Only a few small things to finish off and concentrated on the exhaust on the weekend.

I'm a Ducati man so it had to be Red!

Cheers

Bernie from Melbourne building a Suzuki GT185 cafe racer.
The little 2 banger was a basket case when I saved it from a certain death.

Hope to finish the bike completely in the next 6 months or so..... with any luck!

Anyone else dabbled with Suzuki 2 strokes?

Bernie you are one lucky bastard, I would love to have a GT185.

I have a Suzuki TS185. Different beast but still a 2 stroke.

i am the occasional caregiver to a tired ts250 and very abused ts185. no pictures handy, but cool bikes and good parts availability for the ts185

Thanks Brodie, I am lucky and your not the first to call me a bastard. Seems to be a common theme actually. I like your bikes, ts185 for an every day ride, love it. Will start posting about my build soon.

Hi guys i'm from Melbourne current in the process of building a cb750k2

Wife love's it as a coffee table ;D

i'd eventually like to get a club rego on this bike so i'm looking to join a club, do you guys have any suggestions?

i've got one of those but i'm certainly not allowed to bring it indoors, mrs spotty would not be a happy bunny
i have lived in several share houses in the past that have had various 2 wheeled vehicles as indoor features though

as for club rego, be aware that Vicroads are just about to change the rules so that ALL bikes (and cars for that matter) will have to get a RWC as well as approval from the relevant club. this is not necessarily a bad thing as there are some right shitheaps getting about that got put on the road by a bunch of mates who got themselves registered as a club and approved all their own stuff with little or no safety checks. Vicroads have got sick of it and hence the RWC. its not retrospective

anyway enough of my ranting, i'm in the BSA club for the rego on the Vmax and i'll get the honda done through them too, they do have a tendency however to prefer people joining who have brit bikes ( i have a token BSA 250 which will never be put on the road), though in a purely practical sense, they'll take anyone's money. they've always required a RWC for club reg

you could try the VJMC http://vjmc.org.au/j25/ though they're not always that cuddly about custom stuff

then theres these guys http://ccjmc.net/ we went to their show last year, nice guys with a wide range of bikes who are open to all kinds of stuff

also worth thinking about is, if you're going to go heavily custom, build the bike fairly stock first to get it rego'd then do the custom stuff after, its a lot easier to get a stock(ish) bike RWC'd than something that may well be just as safe but looks 'unusual'

hope i'm not telling you stuff you already know but hope i've helped

cheers, spotty
