Ha, ha! :D :D Ya man... I've been trippin' all day since I started lookin' at it on the shop floor! ;) ;D ;D

I don't think I'm gonna be able to save the paint on it. It's pretty ratty in places. We'll do something cool though! ;) ;D

You guys must think I'm 'made of money'!! :D :D

I think I'll keep it a little simpler than that one! I don't want to 'warp' back to the 70's every time I ride it! I was there... I don't want to go back!

I believe some 'metal flake' might be in order though! ;)

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

Well it's been a long time, but I'm back on this project.

Here are a few pics.

The triple clamps needed some 'grinding' mods and cleaning up.

I think they ended up looking pretty good.

More pics later today.

Here are some more pics.

Painted and installed triples and stem. Cilp ons and headlight are there too.

Another angle.

H2Tracy006.jpg

The whole front end from 2 sides.

H2Tracy009.jpg

The rear mocked up, ready to go to the welder/fabricator.

H2Tracy010.jpg

Some serious fabricating to secure the upper shock mount.

H2Tracy011.jpg

A quick look at the whole bike.

There's a lot of work to do! We've still got alignment, rear brake plumbing, foot controls, body work, gauges and on and on it goes.

It's gonna be fun! ;D

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

You may have mentioned it somewhere and if so sorry for missing it, but what did your suspension come from?

Ya, it's been awhile since I mentioned it. :p

The front and rear came off an '86 Yam FZR600. The fork tubes are the same dia. as the H2 and even the dimension from centre to centre are the same. It was as simple as sliding the fork tubes into the H2 triples and bolting them down!

The rear swingarm slips into the H2 frame with about 1/8" to spare! A couple of small shims and away we go! The upper shock mount will require a little more 'effort' but it's doable!

By next week, I should have a rolling chassis ready for some more detail work. ;D

Ya well it all depends on your taste!

I'm actually going to repaint the Tracy. As 'cool' as it is, it really isn't 'my thing'! I know, I know! Druro will disagree!

Trust me though, it'll still be 'interesting'! ;) ;D Stay tuned! ;D

Very cool man!

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

Well, i do like the old school paint, but it just won't match the wheels/forks/swing arm.

Looks good... not as good as my new project, but good still ;D

O'k bud... spill it! I've shown you mine, you show me yours!!   :D :D

It's time to reveal YOUR secrets! :D :D You can even hijack my thread! It's o'k! ;D

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

Good to see you today Drew, and the bike collection.
I'll be watching. ;)

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

We made some progress with the rear suspension.

Check it out. ;D

Ryan (not Druro) made up some aluminum brackets to connect the rear engine mounts to the top shock mount. It's clean, neat and easy!

I couldn't be happier! ;D The bottom link had t be shortened and welded. It was then mounted to the existing centre stand brackets. Cool! ;D

It's solid, flex free and it works! 8) 8)

I have some bushings to replace and some longer bolts to find, but that's about it.

So, now to reassemble the parts we took off and measure up for a new set of Canadian designed and made custom chambers!

New rearsets are in the works too! ;D

Later! ;D

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

Thanks for the DETAILED photos; I don't know much about the types of fabrication you're doing, but posting detailed shots help me to figure some things out, which saves me from asking fifty thousand stupid questions. Keep them coming; reading the DTT threads is like getting personal instruction from some of you guys, and I really appreciate it!

Re: H2 Tracy Cafe

Well it's snowing, so things are slow around the shop. I should bring you up to date concerning the H2 Project.

I've reconsidered using the Tracy body. It really does't fit now that we've shortened the wheelbase 2.5"!

So, back to a std. tank and tail but with a shortened seat pan! It'll take some doing, but I like where it's heading.
