I need some help. I am rewiring my 78 kz400 and am having issues with the ignition. I have 12v going in and out of my coil, but once it gets to the points I have no power and no spark . my coil is also getting hot when the key is on. When I unscrew the breaker points (so that they are not touching the timing plate) and break the points by hand I get spark. I'm sure this is something stupid that I should be able to figure out but it frustrating me. Thanks for your help.
