That's what someone else suggested too, a 2-claw bearing puller....I was trying to sort this out with the fork removed but putting it back into the triples would make this much easier. Thanks for the quick response.There is probably some rust and dust in there and the caps tend to rock and jam in place, which is just as well because they come out hard enough to remove an eye. make up or adapt a simple compressor to press the cap in, remove the circlip and slowly release tension. I use a small bearing puller for that job
